What is everyone hearing about him? I know Mickey was in to visit, just curious who his schools he’s considering are? Do we have a shot?

Who knows, depends on the kid. My wish list is a portal center and tackle. Until we get the line fixed and nasty we will not win in the big

Seems like a long shot, but he said he plans to visit in January. So if we actual get him on campus, we should have a punchers chance.

Seems like we may have taken too many pre-Mickey commits. He is trying to flip a Louisiana TE committed to Cinnci that looks good right now too. How can we take all these studs he’s after and fill the spots we need to in the portal
(QB, OL, NT)?

I think that gets a little tricky this time of year. After a certain date (Dec 15?). You can only sign for +3 of known attrition. So you can’t just pick up a portal guy like Palmer and tell Hardy to take a hike or pick up Citizen and tell Stepp to bounce, for example, without it counting toward the 85. Maybe it’s easy to just say you knew those guys would leave (I have no idea) that’s just how the rules read.

this position isn't as important to me as getting in some portal linemen.. that has to be the bigger priority along with at least 1 QB. I'd like to see 3-4 linemen come in though.

I agree and I think we need a NT too.

I have a saying that’s kind of a joke but it’s a lot true… Starting pitching, cars, and Running Backs once they break down they are never the same. And they usually continue to break down. (Cough cough Stepp) but when you find a good one, you hold on to dear life with it.

We haven’t had a really good back in Lincoln since Ameer and we haven’t been good since he left really. An elite back can change a team quickly. I think most of us know that Stepp ain’t a show stopper. Rhamir and especially Gabe kind of fit my statement, will they ever run the same again? Yants need work in the passing game badly. We need a difference maker.

same with a DT but I don’t know that we have a DT with an equivalent talent level as Citizen is even looking at us. O-line is a toss up to me. Does it need work? Yes. Do we have the talent but it just needs to be coached up? Maybe. I think Teddy coming back and maybe moving some guys around could really change things. Losing Cam was like a shot in the nuts but we do have 8 dudes with starting experience coming back next year. If DR is a good coach, I think that could really be the fix we need there.

But let’s be real, Citzen is a long shot at best. Sounds like he maybe a Florida lean

Make room for better talent. Alabama, Georgia and Ohio State do it every year. Hell, Alabama will literally cut a player from the team the day before the 85 limit is due.

See my post above on limits and the Dec 15 date. Do you have additional insight into how to massage the +3?

We are at 89 scholarship players out of the 88 allowed (sign over Feb. date) so there are a couple of more weeks to process players. They will process players to sign better talent.

I think we are done at WR. QB I bet we add 1 more. OL I bet more will be processed if we get more portal talent. Who could get processed from the OL? Bando, Lynn, Conn.

On DL Wilderman graduated today so he could be gone to open up a spot on the DL for portal, JUCO or high school.

We have 20 scholarship linebackers right now so we will probably see 1 or 2 leave from there.

1 or 2 linebackers, Wilderman, Bando, Lynn, or Conn. That right there is 4 to 6. Plenty of space to make room for better talent.

Nothing wrong with wanting to visit before you commit. I think we've got a shot here.

Keeping Vokolek is key and hopefully Thomas stays as well.

I'm sure there will be a half dozen who leave between now and after spring ball. Do we really need two scholarship punters?
We had two punters last year and all”s that told me is we didn’t have one good punter…

2 scholarship punters or walkon‘s regardless we need to find a real good one..

I hate to sound harsh but Will Honas is a dude that should move on. A 5th year (in the program) Juco player? What’s that?

Again, I don’t mean to be mean. I know the sacrifices and work these guys put in but, we have much better talent starting @ ILB then Honas. We have just as good or better talent then Will in reserve and it’s better for the program to get the younger guys minutes then Honas.

This is the kind of **** that hurts Scott. Yeah Will has had some bad breaks. But if he isn’t ready to quit football yet, maybe he can hitch on to an indoor football team. I mean 7 years in college is a Tommy Boy joke, no one should do it except for a doctor

Honas is better than Henrich. Why the hell would you want him to move on?

Um what? In no world is Honas better than Henrich. NH is a stud. Honas could compete with Kolarevich for the bench reps, maybe.
