I think a lot of the portal QBs want a guarantee they will be the starter. I don’t think Frost nor Whipple will guarantee that. I think Whipple wants to develop a QB. He talked about he’s really only had 2 QBs he’s had 3 years. One is a future NFL HOF QB and the other was a Heisman finalist. I trust those odds and like that track record
I also don’t think a transfer QB is as big of as necessity as we think it is. I’m starting to think Whipple has not wrote off of Logan or HH even if their skills sets aren’t necessary what we’ve seen from Whipple. As Whip said, I’ve got a lot of stuff
I love Joe Gibbs type of coaches. You adapt to your players and not vice versa. Much easier for a good coach to scheme based on players strength vs trying to make a player something he’s not

Torrez's knee injury is a factor in needing a portal QB. There's no way we should have less than 4 scholarship QBs on the roster even with Smothers IMO.
well we spent almost a decade trying to turn taylor martinez into terry bradshaw, and adrian martinez into joe montana...
now that we gone full whipple option, Air Nebraska needs a qb that can pass...
think about the concept of passing. it's delivering a ball from point a to point b thru the air by means of a throwing motion...this concept's #1 requirement is:

When Nebraskans had use of reason and logic, via the creator....we ran the ball
and when we ran the ball we acquired what is known as running backs..these are players who ran the ball from point a to point b... we did not go after players like dan marino and tom brady to do so..
I understand the pass happy crowd hates traditional Nebraska football, and the offense having a rich identity.
but if your going to be expressing passing gayness constantly....

I'd rather he didn't think at all and leave the decision up to someone who knows what they're doing.
The longer this drags out, the more likely we're going to see a Smothers/Haarberg 2022.
Or a late post spring arrival who will be hard to insert and prep for success on short notice.

Adrian was smart to find a chair and occupy it as quickly as he did. The latest portal entry from Texas is interesting.
People keep saying he’s headed to TCU, but that wouldn’t make sense with Duggan and Chandler Jones already there.
i swear i remember his dad talk about him being a N fan when he was a kid on the a sports radio show here.
