So if the Whipple rumors are true, are the Chubba rumors true? Could Milton have said nice things about Frost in the FSU QB room?

People just connecting some dots...Whipple was in home with Chubba (not wearing Pitt gear as was reported) during weekend he was interviewing with Frost in AZ
Not so. This was late night Monday, preceding Whipple's resignation early AM the next day...

I could see either scenario being the case here.

1) He hadn’t been offered the Nebraska job yet so it was business as usual. Needed to continue recruiting for Pitt. If he was scheduled to visit Chubba that night he wouldn’t cancel it just because he was hoping to land the Nebraska job.

2) He had already accepted the Nebraska job and was recruiting him to NU.

My guess is #1, though him not wearing Pitt gear does give me hope that’s it’s #2. Either way I’m sure he’s recruiting him to Lincoln now.

No thanks... didn't he just have shoulder surgery?? Our last QB never recovered from that... or he never had it.

Looks like a golf club with some sort of flower sprouting out of it. Like a logo for a Hawaiian golf course maybe. Doesn’t seem to be Pitt.
Sean Callahan said yesterday afternoon on kfab that Whipple was NOT wearing Pitt garb.

Also Whipple has a house in the greater Phoenix area and Phoenix is where Frost interviewed both Whipple and Harrell.

No reason if Whipple liked Purdy for Pitt that he wouldn't also want to recruit him to NU

It was his non-throwing should though. So probably not as big of a deal once he's healed up.

Thankful to have received an offer @Pitt_fb

Either Chubba was confused or he was offered by Pitt. I think it’s that simple.

Probably not a bad idea for Whipple to do this? He gets to size the kid up with no strings attached. Like they kid, a Nebraska offer comes soon after. Don’t like the kid, and good luck @ Pitt or whenever the hell you choose.

Did Gabriel commit to Ole Miss yet? He’d by my #1 portal pick

No. He’s probably waiting to see what happens with their OC Lebby. That is his connection to Ole Miss and Lebby is rumored to be headed to OU.

Would much rather have gibson from Akron over little Gabbert.
Gibson reminds me a lot of AMart. And not in a good way. Gibson is 2-13 or something like that as a starter. Say all you want about the talent around him but in a couple of games when they had a chance to win, he did something to make them lose

something to be said for QBs who win. I don’t know why it’s underestimated

Gibson was the only reason they were ever even in those games. Several other QBs played between 2019 and 2021 for Akron and won exactly zero games against FBS opponents. Bryce Young would have maybe won another two games than Gibson did. Here are the scores of his games the last two years.

2020:
58-13
24-10
69-35
38-7
WIN 31-3
56-7

2021:
WIN 35-20
24-10
34-21
31-25 (fumble on the 1 after putting up 15 pts in the 4th qtr)
45-40 (FG to take lead with 2.5 min left)
38-0

Am sure won a bunch in high school... You never know what translates or doesn't. Part of the fun. Just need a few more to go our way for a change...

How nice. Sounds like what we use to say about AM in 2019.

I don’t think he can officially recruit for a school he isn’t employed by. So. The other may have been from Pitt, but that doesn’t mean Neb didn’t come up in the convo
Not sure if you misunderstood what meant. When Whipple was at Purdy house he was recruiting for Pitt. If he was interested in him for Pitt I would think he'd be interested in him after change of employment
