It is two teams that needed some luck to beat NU...so we are not really talking about elite teams here...

I try not to assume the worst about people that I've never met. Figured it was auto correct or something. Does he have a history of racist posts?

I don't think I am allowed im the good old boys club.
Yes he does! I've called him out on many times but the mods on here obviously feel the same or just look the other way.

I have a friend who doesn't post on this site because othe hate, but watches it cuz he's a fan of Nebraska. He never knew ao many Nebraska fans were so bigoted and he's FROM Nebraska. here.

He has over a hundred screenshots that I'm pretty sure Yahoo or Rivals wouldnt tolerate. Some from that same dude. I apologize for assuming you knew that.

If the Big Ten is so overrated, why can't national superpowers Penn State & Nebraska do anything??
How many national championships does this ******** conference have? Oh wait you are going to tell me that the conference is so strong and thats why they dont have championships. Well sorry Dale, thats not the answer. This conference is owned by Ohio State. They are always the closest to the playoff. Have you ever heard that when you play better competition that you will get better in the long run than teams that play weak competition? Yeah well that is the truth. That is why when OSU gets to the playoff they lose. Plain and simple. Big ten is not a strong conference. Grossly over rated. How many teams were ranked at the beginning of the year from the **** 10? as of week 3 you had Iowa, PSU, OSU, Michigan, Michigan State and Wisconsin. Now how many of them are ranked? 4. Yep 4. Most of the conferemce has 5 losses or more. Yep such and awesome conference.

Not when Iowa played them, and not currently.

Iowa's wins:
  • by 5 at home against 8-4 Minnesota (unranked currently)
  • by 10 on the road at 7-5 Iowa State (unranked)
  • by 3 at home against 7-5 Penn State (unranked)
  • by 23 at home against 7-5 Kent State (in MAC title game)
  • by 34 on the road at 6-6 Maryland
  • by 10 at home against 5-7 Illinois
  • by 7 on the road at 3-9 Nebraska
  • by 5 on the road at 3-9 Northwestern
  • by 10 at home against 3-9 Colorado State
  • by 28 at home against 2-10 Indiana
Iowa's losses:
  • by 17 at home against 8-4 Purdue (unranked)
  • by 20 on the road at 8-4 Wisconsin (unranked)
The old chestnut is that the cross-division games don't matter if you take care of business in the division. That went out the door this year as Wisconsin went 5-1 in the division and Iowa was 4-2. Iowa beat PSU, while Wisconsin lost the season-opener to the Lions. In addition, Wisconsin lost another cross-over game by 21 at home to Michigan. Iowa played none of the three best teams in the East, thus, they're headed to Indy and Wisconsin (and us, of course) are not.
if you look at a lot of these games it came down to who was able to keep their qb in the game. Iowa takes out clifford penix and purday. Wisconsin loses Mertz for a 1/2 against michigan or michigan could have lost. Wisconsin would be playing in the title game.
Long story short... **** happens, you win the games you can on the schedule.

Not faulting Iowa for its schedule. I'm just saying they haven't beaten a really good team from the East in four years. If the Hawks win Saturday, it will be a surprise.

In the Hawks' and coaches' defense, Iowa generally beats mediocre teams not named Purdue or Northwestern. And you don't lose to bad teams.

We lose to everyone but bad teams, and we do that on occasion (Illinois, Troy, Colorado, etc.).

two way street.
I'm old, and I remember everything post-1968. Forgive me if I reminisce about Nebraska football on a Nebraska football board.

You have recent history to relish. We don't. It's no fun to wallow in misery. (It's also no fun to wallow in Missouri, but that's a whole other thing.)

Here we are, on the eve of Iowa's biggest football game in six years, a game that could put the Hawks back in the Rose Bowl and mark the school's first conference title in 17 years. And their fans are here, on the board of a program that hasn't had a winning season since 2016 and hasn't beaten Iowa since 2014.

I don't really have a problem with the big 10. the refs may give older members more calls, but you have to play above that.

other then that they haven't pulled any texas stuff like trying to get half the conference to go to the pac..
which is why we are in the big 10..or big 14 or whatever it is..

they could try to balance out games more so we don't play mich, osu, mich state and penn state one year then none the next...definitely try on that

but they pay well, and have more academic perks I guess...

other then that they seem more like the big 8 then the big 12. they don't have longhorn networks a bunch of gymnastics at meetings.

so far I would say the big 8 is the best, then big 10, then big 12...we didn't really do well in the big 6 (I think)

You can say the same thing about the other conferences. The SEC is Alabama and nothing else. Well until Georgia recently....but Michigan might be coming back too. The ACC is Clemson and nothing else....and now simply NOTHING. The Big 12 and Pac 12 are nothing.

Put Alabama in the Big Ten, and they'd probably end up like Penn State and Nebraska.

That doesn't make his statement any less nonsensical.
Alabama is likely 2nd or 3rd best team in the B1G. Michigan could probably beat them and maybe Ohio State on a good day, but they would probably beat every other team.

Depends on how you count. The Big Ten has maybe around 25-30 NCs? About as many as the SEC.

So what is your solution? Joining ND as an indie? Running back to the new B12 (aka the new AAC)? Mountain West? What?

Stop blaming the conference for Nebraska not having it's **** together.

Probably so, and yet this is likely Alabama's worst team in many, many years. The idea that Alabama has somehow had an easier ride to prominence playing in the SEC than in the Big Ten is dipshittery of the highest order.

The SEC usually have Alabama and one other really good team, but outside of their top 2 teams, they typically aren't any better than any other conference. Georgia and Alabama are both great teams but besides those two, the SEC isn't necessarily any better or any worse than the B1G.
