Why are all the offers being reported to small school kids? Albany, Cornell, Temple? Are we not going to try to for some power 5 guys?? Just curious what others thoughts are, Frost seemed to make it known that the portal could be a good majority of this years class…. These types of offers don’t seem to move the needle? Maybe it’s a culture fit thing, but I’d love to see some more proven guys offered?

Frost won't try to compete with the bigger names out there. He's always trying to be tricky like that.. sort of like going after injured running backs that everyone else backs off of. Not the best strategy if you ask me, but after 4 years of this mess, the top kids probably aren't taking his calls, so he has to go dumpster diving for recruits now.

The guys that leave schools are often not good enough to play at power 5 schools, thus leaving, and lower level guys might be dudes that have trajectory up from their org school (ie Toure)

Sometimes the portal is a double edged sword for me. I feel like the smaller school guys are potentially a better get. They've thrived and are wanting to try to go against the big boys. A lot of the bigger names tend to carry a lot of baggage or have been overtaken by better kids and I'd like to try to get the better kids in recruiting. Now some of those big fish are definitely worth a shot. I'd try to lock up any Ohio State QB in a hurry. That room is so crowded that those kids will be stupid talented.

I actually think Frost has done ok in the portal and I hope he expands a little more. MSU got rich on the portal and I think we could fill some gaps as well, but I do think our roster is in ok shape.

Most 3-4 star power 5 portal transfers end up playing at lower level teams. QBs are about the only position where they seem to transfer among top programs.

Harvard has a freshman nose tackle that I wish to hell would decide he wanted to play for NU. BEAST! Lots of overlooked talent at lower division schools these days.

Thor Griffith? That would make sense. He's from New Hampshire, not exactly a bounteous recruiting field, so probably overlooked.

Agree on that for sure...Samari came as a proven producer, albeit at a lower level....turns out he fits in just fine with the big boys. We accepted a transfer from that former 5-star DB from Ohio State, did that guy play a meaningful down this year, even with the injuries we had? I know that is a really really small sample size, but those lower tier guys are really hungry for the most part....some guys just mature and progress differently.

Frost better be hitting the portal hard, cuz he is going to be unemployed by next season's end. Problem is, he can't coach so does it really matter who he brings in? I mean C'mon, he has already pissed away 4 top 20 recruiting classes. LOL

That guy from Montana worked out okay. I'd take a few more of those.

I'd love to get proven players out of the Power 5 that are maybe grad transfers or want to leave because of a coaching change. I would think a majority of the younger guys are transferring because they weren't happy with playing time and are more of a 50/50 gamble.

The DB from OSU did play some. I don't know if he played a lot on defense but he played on special teams. He was listed #2 I think on our corner depth chart. I expect him to play quite a bit more next fall.

Does Stepp have a shot to play next year? A 4* that didn't make it at USC and didn't seem to produce in Lincoln

He'll play next year. He almost has to unless the incoming freshman is the next Ahman Green. With just Rhamir, Belt and Ervin coming off of an ACL, Stepp has as good of shot as anyone. Hopefully whatever we do offense wise he can pick up and execute better than he did at times with the offense this year.

Is Yant leaving? Did I miss him putting his name in the portal?
