....that before the discussion of play calling, QBs, running backs, or any other coach replacement, that the discussion should be the lack of elite talent at offensive and defensive line? I truly believe that no matter who the coach is, who calls plays, who the qb is or rb is or any skill position, until the issues with lines are addressed, nu will never be anything but average.

I agree there is talent. But let's be honest, when nu was elite, it was due to elite offensive and defensive line play. We need more than just talent, we need to be elite again

No ones fixing lack of elite talent on the OL in a handful of months. The players we have now will largely be the players that take the field next year.

Correct me if I am wrong, but frost has been here for 4 years. And with previous coaches, seems like the same issue. Offensive line, average at best. Defensive line not close to elite. I would even disagree with the scheme, only 3 defensive linemen? Is it stupid to say that nu is not the Pittsburgh Steelers as we do not have 4 linebackers that weigh 275 lbs and run a 4.4 "40"?

Not incorrect but not what your OP says. The things people are talking about (playcalling, potential hires, etc) are things that can change for next year. You want to know if that talk can be shelved to talk about something that is not going to change for next year. Good luck.

I agree OL needs to be addressed most of all offensively. We don’t have a talent issue on the OL more of player development issue. The defensive line I think is a little bit more complex since we run a 3-4. 3-4 defenses mostly rely on linebackers for pressure. Linebacker play from our OLBs need to improve in order to put more pressure on defenses.

Unless a guy or two follow our new O line coach to NU. We need to find some guys who are rotting on a playoff contender's bench who want to play.

They need portal players on both sides of the line for next year. More so on offense, and throw in some linebackers too. Oh and a QB, a couple of receivers, and maybe a safety, and a couple of kickers.. add a tight end while you're at it.

The OL has some of the highest rated recruits on the team. The DL has elite talents in Daniels and Robinson, though Robinson is coming along slower than many hoped. I really have no idea what you're talking about. With better coaching, those highly rated recruits are going to play a lot better. Austin was an absolute **** OL coach, and I expect we'll see massive improvement next year at that position.

definitely need oline improvement, but the quickest way to maximise the most improvement is getting a qb that can throw the ball. accurately and not turn the ball over alot.
a qb with a arm that can burn a defense for blitzing or crowding the line to stop the run.
that should be the top priority, in a passing system built around the dependance on a qb that can pass.
