It's time for younger kids to step up. Riley and Nash should be able to handle "Middle Guard." Pencil in Rogers and Robinson at DT. If Colton Feist stays healthy, he'll be in the mix to back them up. We've heard good things about Weaver, Buckley and Newsom. If the right juco or transfer is available, I bet they add one in December. But hopefully, they are careful about it. I can't think of any juco or transfer linemen who have played right away. Most haven't really played at all.
Kakdawg commented that he doesn't see the explosiveness we need from our NT in Nash. After washing OU's NT last night I see what he means. Good heavens that guy was quick and powerful. He just blasted through OSU's O line time after time. Daniels will make an NFL roster.
He offers an immediate opportunity to play at certain positions. Then it becomes about what can I do for myself to increase visibility? Portal guys are about themselves. The wins and losses don't matter so much. Wins are nice, but hearing your name in the news is nicer.
With the number of portal guys and the fairly limited number of spots, there will not be a shortage of guys who want a scholarship to a P5 school. I agree that the attractiveness for anybody with more than one year left might not be great. For a guy that has one year and thinks he can start at NU though it will work. The OC and OL coach hires are critical. Those guys will likely have some kids follow them to NU.

You could be right and we go after all these positions. But what does that tell us about this program after 4 years? Poor recruiting, poor retention, poor development of all of the above? Somewhere along the way, a poorly manages system breaks down.
It would be semi-miraculous to recruit good players and coaches to his current program. It’s like asking people to board a sinking ship.
apparently some older wealthy NU fans who understand the run game, will use nil money to assemble a much more ground game focused team with the transfer portal....this is between boosters and trev, frost will have no say...
Found toure and Daniels' older brother. Again, the key will be the OC and OL coaches. Austin was too passive IMO. Nobody knew Lubick. I think the new OC will bring a QB with him maybe. Surely the OL coach will bring a lineman or two. A grad transfer OT would be great.
Yeah, not surprising. The chances of Daniels coming back were close to nil. I think Nash will do okay though. I don't think he has the quickness Daniels does, but he's strong enough to hold his ground. That's the #1 thing you can ask for at that position.
It’s a good thing this transfer portal thing is coming about in 2022. Think how it could’ve helped in the past four years…

Seriously? Good for him. Glad he was using his brain in school because none of our O line used any brain cells during games.
It’s a good point. Also seeing our general pass rush struggles (lacking elite pass rushers), it certainly contributed to an inability to prep our OL (in practice) for the season facing several tough pass rush units from opponents.
Why would any RB want to play under Frost. They have mis-managed RBs all season long. Ill be surprised of we dont have a couple leave. Frost is going to have to go to one of the highest rated backs and guarantee them the starting spot Just to get them to come here.

Really? No D1 coach does this. Imagine this, 1st day of practice new guy comes in and is with starting unit, tells all the other backs , hey Frosty told me I’m starting hold my beer. Doesn’t happen
