Westside with shades of Nebraska on the last series.

Frickin go under center and QB sneak from the 1 for 4 plays.

Pretty much. That's what Gretna did. Quarterback sneak with three players behind him to push him into the end zone

Amazing when I was in high school Gretna and Bennington were punch lines. Now they are legit. Like seeing new communities having success. Especially with all Gretna has been through lately

That's what McMansions as far as the eyes can see will do for you.

I get playing in Memorial...but it is such a big place and look sooooo empty for these games...is there another way?

Not charge admission?
Raffle off skyboxes for the game?
I have no idea and maybe it is great for the kids that play and they don't even care.
Gretna packed west Stadium. I don't recall that many people for a Championship game. Hell, there were a handful of skyboxes full.

That game was a dogfight. Westside turned into a current Husker offense after they drove down the field and got into the ten at the end of the game though. Gretna made ONE big stop and then the offense **** the bed. Perfect metaphor for out team this year and several others in the past.

Congrats Gretna! Many of my sons friends are on that team, a bunch of them I coached in flag/peewee back in that day before we move to Texas... Very Happy to see this!

Down Here we go to Jerry's World and it's crazy how many people will pack that thing! My Daughters senior year in 2020 5A had close to 40K fill the seats (I want to say 38K-sih) and the 6A I know set a record at 47,818 for a High School Football Game! It just hits differently down here... In Nebraska you'll see primarily students, family and prior alumn... down here you have people who buy passes for the entire championship weekend which coincidentally is always the weekend right before Christmas...

PS: If I'm bragging, there's nothing quite like seeing your kid on that huge *** Screen hanging over the field!

I feel for Lincoln East. They put up 48 pts on Gretna in the first round, just had some really bad calls go against them in the game. I think if East could have had Gretna in Lincoln, or pulled it off up there they would have made a deep run. Really surprised to see a 7-3 score.

Millard South was the best team I thought but over looked Omaha North big time..

A damn nice one at that! Should he left it as a football field without a progrma?

I knew it was a pitch now, we have a conversation earlier in the thread about medium sized stadiums in Nebraska, and I know UNO used to have bleachers on the other side, and end zone seating. Just couldn’t remember what the capacity was. Only around 3k now.

Gretna had a ton of close games throughout the season, could handle the pressure of the game.

Westside had pretty much all blowouts, had never had to perform with the game on the line this season....and it cost them!

Nebraska has had to perform with the game on the line many times this season ... and it hasn't helped them!

Wasn’t suggesting at all it shouldn’t have been done. Just pointing out is isn’t available for football. My kids were all soccer players and played at Caniglia In one event or another.

My bad and apologies. Sometimes it's hard to tell with so many posters whining about everything these days!
