Seems like a no brainer, he should get drafted high. Good luck big fella!

I hope he makes an NFL roster. Time to start getting players developed into NFL players on a more regular basis. Last year we had a TE that made it on an NFL roster. Now to see if Allen can get it done. Then we have some on the Nebraska roster that can get developed into an NFL TE.

Not surprising. I'll be shocked if he isn't drafted fairly early. I haven't seen any projections but the 2nd round wouldn't surprise. Big target with good hands and speed for his size.

He’s a stud. I’ll be shocked if he doesn’t have a long and productive NFL career.

The dude will be the 1st TE taken from the B1G over Fergusen and the others mark it!

Not playing is a red flag for some teams. Legit question though.

I deleted because I couldn’t tell by the video if he was planning to play Friday. I take it he is planning to play.

a bit risky - he may not improve his stock particularly with a back up QB. But who knows

On the other hand a big game with a backup QB and against Iowa's defense could raise his draft stock. His performance last week sure didn't hurt him. Life's a gamble.

Agree.
Probably will be fine and can at a minimum get some more great blocking on tape regardless of whether his receiving is limited by QB play

he does stand to lose far more in the worst case scenario than he will gain in the best case scenario, however

Allen not only has the build, and football ability, but the dude has it between the ears. Allen can be counted on to consistently do the right thing, on and off the field, without needing to be reminded. Travis, should he stay, is poised for a monster year. I see a lot of the same things in Travis, that I see in Austin. If the QB/OL/OC situation gets worked out, the TE release will be BBQ chicken, all year.

I don’t see how one game would sink him as much as you might be suggesting. I don’t see him losing much if anything at all, unless he blows out a knee or something.

For kicks I looked at some of the dudes highly ranked for the 2022 draft at TE…. Allen could hang with most of them. So, I am guessing third round draft pick. Good hands, great size.
Would love to see him for 7-8 years in the NFL

6'9" athletic tight end, dude will be able to receive the NFL retirement after he is done in the league. Boy, was he under utilized here.

Benning and Severe were talking today about the guys that might try to go pro. I sure hope everyone they were talking about doesn't leave. With COVID I'm kinda clueless on who has eligibility left.

Heck, Zach Potter was an NFL tight end. Never even played the position in college

Thank you Sean Beckton.....one of the coaches on the team who has EARNED his PAY over the last few years! Without you this trash offense and sh!tty play calling would have been even more of an abomination!

Just shows that in life you can still do your job well even if your boss is clueless, cashing checks and mailing it in....

Who were they taking about? The big ones we need back are Jurgens, Daniels, Thomas.

That was the era where Missouri TE's put up GIANT numbers and had no idea how to block in the NFL. Meanwhile Potter made a team the same year having never played a down at TE, and UNO QB and former Husker walk-on Zach Miller who also never played a down at TE somehow found the starting roster of NFL teams. Hell, Miller was a team leader when his career ended with a nasty leg snap. The week before, he took the pitch on the coolest two point conversion ever and ran the option with his rookie QB to win the game.

They think Daniels is gone, said they thought Jurgens could get drafted but think he’ll stay but worry because he loved Austin. Didn’t mention Thomas that I remember.

Good For Him! He will be greatly missed... Huskers do however have some great options in the wings ready for 2022 and this is one spot I'm not too worried about as we do have a Great coach in that position so all should be OK... makes him leaving that much easier... I truly hope that kid gets what he's earned and has a long lustrous career in the NFL! Make us Proud AA!

Wish we had him another year. Definitely could have been used more in the red zone especially.

If he tests well he could move into the 2-3rd round range. Right now he’s probably more in the 4-6th. Will need to prove he has the speed for that draft grade IMO.

Good luck AA. Thinking of the stable of TE we had over the last 4 years, he did a great job rising to the top.

How in the world is he underutilized? He leads the B1G in receiving for a TE and is about to break all the school TE receiving records.
He was wide open so many times OVER THE YEARS, didn't have him in there at crucial times OVER THE YEARS. Nebraska hasn't used the TE historically as much as others have against us. OU ala Keith Jackson, Penn state back in the 80's etc. Many teams broke our back with TE when we appeared to have the game in hand.

dr tom would light up folks with the tight end when they thought they had us slowed down

My favorite was the '94 NU/CU with both ranked in the top 3. NU's tight ends accounted for over a third of NU's total offense yards that game. Berringer to Alford and Gillman all day long. That game was critical to TO's first MNC.
