My gas station theory

You can walk into any gas station, and come across just about any individual of any “class” (assuming class is okay to say). As you go to pay, it is inevitable one of those any people take a really long time to complete a simple transaction once they get to the front of the line, and then hold up the entire line of other people waiting. But when you think about it statistically, many others in a held up line likely include more people that take a long time at simple tasks or transactions in life as well, so they are unbothered, and you find yourself in a Groundhog Day conundrum.

Some of us in the back of the line can’t wait any longer. Can we please stop losing by 7 or less, and finally start winning by 1 or more?

GBR - and stop buying scratch tickets you lunatics

Pet peeve of mine. Cannot stand waiting in line while some ahole is gambling.

The losing however will continue until something changes in Adrian’s mind, or someone else gets a shot for a long enough time to un-condition what has been trained and now ingrained in the other players.

The problem compounds, because the coach hasn’t identified it, and has allowed it to fester. Now it is the norm.

Just come out and say it, poor people, white trash, whatever, I don’t hold back anymore. I can’t Stand when I see some methhead in sponge bob sweat pants and crocs buying 20 dollars worth of lotto tickets without a care in the world when I’m waiting to pay for my gas to head off to work to earn another 20 dollars to repeat the process. We both are repeating a process I’m just not wearing the cartoon sweat pants I guess.

Yup. Also they wait until the cashier rings up their total, and then they figure oh, maybe I should start looking through my purse or pockets now for how I'm going to pay for this. Start counting out a lot of small change or deciding which credit card to use.

I hate that as well and I am SO thankful for pay-at-the-pump technology. I rarely go inside the store to pay for gas these days and that spares me a lot of annoyance.

You still pay for gas inside? I think there’s an easy solution to your problem.

Never go into the convenience store to begin with. Pay at the pump and get out of there.

My biggest pet peeve is the a**hole with Iowa license plates in the left lane driving 75 MPH.

I think you'd have an easier time finding an intelligent Iowa fan than finding a gas station that doesn't allow you to pay at the pump.'

Methinks neither of these 2 oddities actually exists.
Well stone head, I happen to live in a town that has 3 gas/service stations and not a one has pay at the pump. So I guess I’ll continue to wait in line while you scratch your tickets

That's probably their only socialization of the day...talking to cashier. Probably on first name basis too

Wait wait , I was thinking of Maywood Ne, when I replied. Don’t have a clue of a Mayberry ne or whatever you were replying to me about
TV show. (Andy Griffith) Mayberry was the town. It’s often used as a slam to insult towns or town folks. As it was pretty hick like.

I had about 15 items in my shopping cart many years ago and let a lady go ahead of me who had one item, like a dozen eggs. She asked the clerk for uncommon cigarettes like Marlboro box light menthol they had to look all over the store for and find the key to the cigarette case. Then she presented a stub and they had to find her developed pictures from behind the pharmacy counter, then she wrote a check and they had to spend several minutes finding her check cashing card they had on file. Fifteen minutes later I decided I would never let a person with one item in front of me again.

There aren't many things worse than being next in line at the checkout counter and more than one person behind you goes to a different checkout counter and gets out of the store before you do.

I am truly the worst at picking out checkout lines. It is definitely a skill I have far from mastered.

Spent a few years in another country and at The checkout registers they would actually have a sign that would say “have your money ready be prepared to check out” it’s embarrassing that some people have to be told to do this
