Big boy college football is all about wins. We are about to keep a 3-9 coach in year 4. Please tell me what is going to change next year? New OC? We just hung almost 500 yards on #1 defense in nation. Really, honestly. Let’s chat about what is going to be different next year.. still same man in charge.... what’s different??

My three big hopes are hopefully better player development across the board offensively (sans tight end position which has been great), better play-calling inside the red zone and fewer penalties.

Michigan State gave a 10 year extension for $95M this week, only to watch their hero get boat raced by a team ready to exploit their entire weakness as a football team.

We might win one or two more games with some luck? We have a slightly easier schedule than this season?

Ya .. I can see this. But, it’s going to be year 5. I’m just looking for what is going to change. Frost is still HC and it’s his program. Which right now, can’t win a game with his culture that’s been built in 4 years. Ya we play better, but 3-9 with a 4th year starter and 6th year seniors on defense. To me Frost took a possible West champion team and will finish 3-9. Are we going to be better player wise next year? No... so we expect to be better?!?

Well msu is 9-2. If nebraska was 9-2 nobody would have a problem with frost. Ive come around to frost staying another year, but expectations need to be sky high next year. This was a year of moral victories. Next year needs to be about real ones.

I am not a big fan of trashing Frost and the team right now.
I’m not trashing team. But Frost? It needs to be Explained to me how at 3-9.. we think this is going to get better? I’ve been supportive of frost, but he’s going to be 3-9 in year 4....it’s unacceptable and hiring a new Offensive staff isn’t going to fix it...

News flash, they are counting moral victories as wins, so Nebraska is undefeated this season.

Special Teams, Offensive Line, and QB. Better, more consistent performance in those three areas would make a huge difference.

However, Frost has said that special teams are doing great and wants Martinez to come back. So I don't have a lot of confidence that we will be improved in these areas next year.

The moral victory **** doesn't mean anything to me.

We have a 3-8 team that competes and plays their asses off every weekend. They don't quit, and have played a very tough schedule.

I know people don't want to hear about the 'little things' that need to be tidied up, but damn we are all staring it right in the face and it is frustrating as hell.

First thing you can ask any coach when rebuilding a program is to be competitive. This team has shown they are competitive with anybody and everybody in the B10.

It’s not going to get better. I’m pretty sure even Trev knows that.

Next year is essentially just another throw away year to buy Frost out at a lower price. Best case scenario we go 6-6, make a bowl game and still get to send Frost packing.

This my thoughts also. I think next year will only be a little better because of schedule. That the ONLY thing...

And HB13 will be talking with Trev as to who we hire in 2023 and everything will be miraculously well again.

It could be worse. We could be giving 95 million to a coach who will probably revert to 3-9 next year.....

Michigan state won't be 9-2 next year. Take it to the bank. I said this morning that MSU was going to get their doors blown off. Hell we should have beat them by at least 2 tds.

Plus, how about our recruiting deficiencies? I guess we can always round up a few walk-ons.

I think it’s easy to see how we can be better. We don’t have to be much better to win a lot more games. Better OL play and better kicking and we will win a lot more games. With a new OL coach and every one back on the OL, don’t see why it can’t happen.

They are unbelievably fortunate have the record they do. Probably should have lost 2-3 more games. You can say that’s because Tucker is great, but I don’t buy it.

Sometimes things break your ways (bad punt) and sometimes they don't. The crazy sh## that happens to NU is unbelievable. Hopefully today is the last day that we fair catch a short kick on a kickoff.... I thought for a minute when MSU missed that chip shot field goal that today was going to be our day. Then Adrian threw that interception.

Maybe a team doesn't score in 13 seconds if get a special teams coach. Frost could struggle next year but would save 12.5 million on severance. Possibly no severance if gets a 2.5 million a year job at another school. Maybe, the OC and oline coach will make a difference. Need more Toure.productive players in the portal like lineman.

Jimmy Johnson once said. "You make your own luck." He also won National titles and Super Bowls. Winners win. Losers make excuses.

You guys can beat Iowa. They are good, but not as good as Wisconsin, Ohio State, Michigan or Oklahoma. Limit mistakes, make a bunch of plays, and make sure you have the lead in the final minute. AM is not what I would call a clutch performer.

Still waiting on how long he needs to have a winning season????
I think the mark is he's going to need to be 5-1 to start the year next year or he'll be gone. Supposedly there's an evaluation date at that point in October.

I sure hope so. 5 million a year for 3 wins? Lol. Not a real good return on your investment.
that was taken in to consideration when he agreed to a reduced buyout and salary. Remember he also gave up a million last year. The money is insane but it sounds like it's going to get much worse. IF we can Frost in the future the next guy is going to demand more than 5 unless he's a nobody from Podunk U.

The key to feeling good about our current situation is to incorporate the word "if" into every other sentence and then assume only bad things will happen to our rivals and only good things will happen to us ... because ... words

Kevin Wilson may be available. Although I would think some SEC team would offer him between now and 2022.

Who counted Illinois, Minnesota, and Purdue as moral victories?

If moral victories counted, we'd be 7-3.
I counted them. Perhaps your criteria are different than mine, but even then, at least Purdue should count. Purdue did beat Michigan State and Iowa.

so ...morals victories DO mean something to you......"close" is okay as long as we try hard? Sorry...but this isn't PeeWee football. This program is judged by wins and losses...not by how hard we try. Poor coaching has not helped this team whether they try hard or not.
