There are individuals out there that are stupid but look at it as an opportunity. I'm willing to be optimistic when I get up in the morning. Try it some time.
Why, you'll just end up in the same place as WestCoastCornhusker2 will be, just that you're journey was longer because you started further from the pessimistic results that are coming.

I am a fan. 100% a fan. But, a fan of what? I am a Nebraska fan. Am I a fan of losing? Am I a fan of watching the joke that is the Scott Frost Era? No, I am not.

The bigger question is how can you sit back and accept what is happening? Are you a fan or a sheep? Any other guy and Frost was packing his bags last year. Period. Now, we are accepting “close losses” as a positive? Watching A. Martinez trot out there game after game and lose and not care makes me sick. It should make you sick.
Tell me what I should be doing to change the narrative while I live out of state? Don’t go to home games? Check. Don’t buy husker gear? Haven’t in awhile… check. Stop watching the games on the tube? Then I may as well not be a fan. That ain’t gonna happen.

I love that guys like you think I can make a difference behind my keyboard. Maybe if I badmouthed the coaching staff and AD’s office, they would make a change.

Lol. Tell me why I should be doing differently, and how it will make a difference.

I went back at looked at some of your recent posts. For a guy that has 10,000+ posts - I certainly expect a little better conversation.

I see you asking a guy about quoting Dumb and Dumber, you think I’m an Iowa fan because I want Frost fired, there was some other drivel, etc.

I don’t want to be the guy that breaks it to you but this is a message board. It is built to discuss these things.

What can you do better? Bring something funny or interesting to a conversation. Admit Frost is a pile of trash. Admit people that think Tom Herman is our new OC are idiots. Understand this is a message board and not some hierarchy in society where you are important because you posted 10,000+ boring posts.

The sad part is you really think I’m trying to change something. I’m not. I enjoy taking a position and going crazy with it. I love blasting idiots. I love blasting supporters of a failed regime. I love it. I love it so much that I will keep doing it until Frost is gone. I do it because he should 100% be gone.

You’re so smart, obviously, smarter than most here… show me where I’ve stated Frost should be kept on. You can’t. You assume I’m fine with it. Is that because I haven’t crapped on Frost and Trev like you and others have?

Here’s what I know. I was convinced Frost was gone before the lifeline. I was looking forward to seeing what someone else could do. But that’s not what happened. I haven’t posted much in support of the decision, because I’m still on the fence. But some of the inane posts on here deserve the ridicule.

You obviously don’t approve of my posts to westcoastcornhusker2. Yeah, I call him out. Every damn post he posts is a regurgitation of the same thing. He has said in 16 different threads that no one will come here for 1 year. He has said in 60 different threads that Nebraska fans are ok with losing. Nothing anyone says to that guy will change anything.

I don’t want to be the guy that breaks it to you but this is a message board and who gives a crap what you post? You think that because you post crap against a failed regime that it should warrant some great debate.

And since this is a message board, you should probably know that people troll all the time and post inane stuff just to get a reaction from others. You’re right, there are idiots on this board, just like every other board in America. Why should I want to debate stuff with a crappy poster?

I freely admit there are people who know way more than I do on this board. And they communicate a hell of a lot more respectfully than you do.

I just find it funny that you feel a message board should be a forum for great debate. These boards are often a cesspool. Good luck with your debate.

We’re not worth it WestCoast. Unfortunately for clowns like Sloth, nothing will keep Scott Frost employed after week 6 in 2022. The circus will be leaving town. I’m counting the days.

Ha what 2nd grade dumb stupid little brain sloth has. Can't find any rational arguement to defend his side of the issue so resorts to nasty petty little personal attacks like a dumb fat 2nd grade boy.

Look man, nobody is doing cartwheels because of Frost's record and him being retained. It's just your incessant bitching that turns people off. Does it make you feel better to be so obsessed with something you can do nothing about? Some of us feel compelled to explain WHY Frost is being retained and it isn't all about him being a former Husker. Some of it is economics. Some of it is the available coaching pool. The defense is more of the decision to keep him rather than the defense of Scott Frost the coach. I think our AD looked at ALL of the factors and decided at least for the time being this was the prudent move.

I suspect that if you asked the schools looking for head coaches all over again this year that IF they could go back and have a Mulligan on their coaching carousels that most of them would absolutely say they screwed up by not riding longer with a coach they had previously. None of us know if this will work but over 90% of Husker fans are at least OK with the decision to retain Frost and change the staff. You're in the minority apparently and from listening to lots of sports talk radio out of Omaha and listening to their callers, I think that number is accurate. I would also say that in talking to my network of Husker friends some of whom are large donors, every single one of them agrees with Trev's decision.

And that is the life of a D1 football coach. It is only one year if they fail and that is basically the case anywhere.

James Franklin is going to SC. Mel Tucker to LSU. Herman would be stuck with the Brody Belts of the world because we wont be able to recruit any P5 talent with Frost at the helm. I dont see any p5 talent in our receiver room. I see an all conference Big Sky receiver a supreme athlete that doesnt understand how to play football and an instate freshman with some potential that only got here because the NCAA waived the ACT requirement because of Covid. Other than those 3 I see a bunch of walk ons.
The SC job, in my opinion, is highly overrated. Pete Carroll was able to turn them into a dominant program over a period of about 6 years in the 00s but before and after that it's been very stagnant. Yes there is talent in So Cal but there are also a lot of external forces at work in that state that are leading to less than optimal results. The area that USC is in isn't even a nice area in what I consider a crappy city. I used to live in south Orange County and we never wanted to go north of Anaheim if we didn't have to. Traffic, smog, crime..it all adds up. With Democrats in control of that state things are even worse. There is a reason that the best athletes fly all the way to Alabama, etc to find the best chance of success. If Franklin leaves his current job for that one I think he'll regret it in a matter of 2-3 seasons.

I was talking to a head coach of a pretty successful MVC football team a few years ago at our kids' hockey game. His school had made the decision to move up to D-1 and I asked him how he felt about it. He said it was going to be tough initially but the money was what the school was chasing. He said, it would cost him his job and it did. IF I remember correctly he got fired 2 years after the move.

It would be a perfect fit for an NFL coach with some college coaching and recruiting experience. Watch Dallas's OC and DC. They're both going to be on the list for college head coaching jobs.

Trev, "well, this is against all rational analysis, thought, review, and odds, probably a bad decision, but we will do it anyways, why?" "you know, Scott’s a brother, he’s a Husker, and he’s a Nebraskan.”

These same people would have ran any other coach not named Frost out of town with pitchforks. I think there is a verse like "
Truly I tell you,” he continued, “no prophet is accepted in his hometown.

So I will be the minority that yells "The Emperor has no clothes"

I thought that shouldn't have been said, but there is no doubt that him being a Husker played a role. I have always said that. I don't think your quote is verbatim either. That said, when you look at the available pool and the economics, the decision gets tougher. I don't see that guy out there that justifies eating 20+ million to go get. Do you?

Yes, there have been numerous countless posts on this site listing coaching candidates that are "Better than what we got" No secret I;ve advocated for Aranda and Bill O'Brien. There are many more solid candidates than those 2. If you'd like I can start another thread with coaches that would be better than Frost?

When exactly did Tom Herman say he wasn't interested in the HC position at Nebraska? Don't remember seeing that one. He wasn't a candidate in 2015 or 2018. In 2015 when Riley was hired, he was an OC and took the Houston job. We weren't going to fire Pelini and hire an OC and TH wasn't going to turn down Nebraska for Houston. In 2018 when Frost was hired TH was in his second year at Texas and Frost was obviously the only candidate.

This must have been from the same "sources" that claimed Nebraska was after Jamie Pollard.

It is not just one year to all you that think it is. They will be offering 3 year contracts to assistants so there will incentives to come it’s not just a one year contract ( even if frost fired after one year).
It's one year. The contract might say 2 or even 3. It means nothing. If you believe Nebraska fires Frost and keeps the OC you really are one in a million. This whole deal was done to save money if/when they get rid of Frost.

LOL. Aranda isn't leaving Baylor for Nebraska. O'Brien no doubt would listen to an offer and he MIGHT be better than Frost. He's never had to try to recruit to Nebraska so there's no guarantee it would work. Man you're persistent in your venom. I'll give you that.

BTW, you still didn't answer the question. Are they worth eating 10+ million to go get? Mmmm probably not.
