Depending on how the offensive staff takes shape, would Frost have to let either Dawson or Rudd go to make room for a Special team coach? It’s not like we need to LB coaches right?

Bill Busch would obviously be the top choice he’s already here in Lincoln. You could go after Mickey Joseph or that guy from USC, but are they really that much better than Busch?

Im not sure what the rule is on coaches. Isnt it you are allowed 10 full time coaches? Not sure why Frost wouldnt take over as QB coach as well. Then hire a full time ST Coordinator.

Mickey Joseph wouldnt be brought in for ST.

They dont have a deducated ST coach at Bama. Their ST coach is also their TE coach. All 3 coordinators are also responsible for a position group. Not sure why Chinander cant handle one of the LB groups. They have a separate CB and S coach.

But at Georgia, they have a dedicated ST coach, and a secondary coach to handle Safeties and CB (like we do)

While our special teams are terrible - FG kicking by our opponents are worse than ours. Our opponents have missed more FGs in our games than we have missed

It's crazy how people keep posting stats related to Nebraska football that defy belief. Like we have 27 total punt return yards. WTF? How is that possible?

Snyder is the best. But probably wouldn’t also coach a position like Busch. Don’t think Joseph has a ST background does he?

Can you imagine that Johnny Rodgers NEVER fair caught the ball in 3 years?

DeJuan Groce(sp) was probably responsible for winning a couple games in one year when Solich was here in 2002, and that was a 7-7 season. He had 732 punt return yards. In JR's Heisman season he had 600+ yards.

I don't think punt returning is something you can teach or coach. You either have it or you don't.

DPE won multiple games his freshman year with his punt returns.

But see, that almost in a way makes our ineptitude at it even more crazy. How is it possible to be this bad at it for so many years? We have 100+ guys on the team every year and we can't find one guy who has "it"? Or at least just a tiny bit of "it"?

But you can teach blocking. I used to take a ton of pics back in the late 70s and 80s and one game I was in the south east end zone and took a series of shots for a punt return. It was a beautiful illustration of a return line spaces well engaging tacklers, angled from closer to the receiver and then widening out. It was a thing of beauty but the last frame in my series has the returner making his first plant after the catch and slipping down. I think it was against Missouri but I have often marveled at the precise placement angles of those players. It is NOT all bases on the wiggle of the receiver.

Because Frost decided it would be CTB's job. Until CTB played his way out of the position. Then he inserted Martin to basically, with a couple exceptions to just fair catch the ball.

I wondered why not try Alante Brown, Toure. Either could be dangerous.

Frost has some hang ups that he just can't get past. It's what make him a flash in the pan as a coach.

Frosty secretly has major fear of failure. He was just sure he could fix a broken Adrian. Neglected his backups all together

Special teams definitely needs to be addressed because our current special teams are stuck on SUCK.
