Would Frost leave Nebraska to accept another job somewhere else? I could see his offense working at TTU, but I think he's tied to "home" so much he'd never resign or accept a job someplace else.
Because the fans and media have turned on him, his job is no fun and depressing, and his wife reportedly doesn't like it here. At some point feeling wanted, mental health, and family happiness trumps $20M, especially after you have already made $20M.Why would he walk away from $20,000,000?
Do you honestly believe that? He knows that if he gets fired he gets all the money, but if he quits he loses it all. At this point, he is not saving face by quitting since he is not getting any better or even any halfway decent offers.Because the fans and media have turned on him, his job is no fun and depressing, and his wife reportedly doesn't like it here. Pretty sure that the wife is not "here" if you are referring to any place in Nebraska.Because ... his wife reportedly doesn't like it here...
I find that people who say that have never actually been in that position.Because the fans and media have turned on him, his job is no fun and depressing, and his wife reportedly doesn't like it here. Why isn't she here?Pretty sure that the wife is not "here" if you are referring to any place in Nebraska.
After that happens, the wife probably leaves too, so hopefully he isn’t so blind to that possibility.Hopefully they work out a buyout and frost leaves
He'd probably sign for about 100K a year just so NU would have to keep paying for no production.Hopefully they work out a buyout and frost leaves

He would totally take a job like TTU. After he gets fired and collects $20M.
Texas Tech would never offer Frost. Their boosters would sooner burn down the school.
That has got to be the biggest mindf@ck to TTU. Fire their guy who spends about a month as usc assistant then gets hired to be head coach of nfl team. Can you imagine if that happened to usMaybe he could go to Kansas? Maybe they like moral victories or being down 31-9 against Illinois but being “close”.
Frost would do decent at a Pac 12 school
Oregon State-would be hilarious after he insinuated they tampered with current players.
Arizona
Cal
Washington State-Moos connection
Kliff Kingsbury got fired from his alma mater and basically went straight to head coach of the NFL. Is Frost that regarded? No. But he might get another shot soon.
Not really, guy was a crappy HC at tech only had 2 winning seasons in 6 years..they made the right call. That has got to be the biggest mindf@ck to TTU. Fire their guy who spends about a month as usc assistant then gets hired to be head coach of nfl team. Can you imagine if that happened to us
You wouldn’t be mindfucked if we fire frost and he goes to Detroit lions, drafts an electric qb and starts having major success? Not really, guy was a crappy HC at tech only had 2 winning seasons in 6 years..they made the right call.
I would LOVE for that to happen for Frost, it would mean it would offset most if not all of his buyout money we would have to pay him the next few years. Would be awesome for us, just like it was for the Tech boosters wallets that were not having to pay multi millions a year as payoff/buyout money.

So it would basically be the same as now? We pay him for no production? He'd probably sign for about 100K a year just so NU would have to keep paying for no production.

Not at all, cuz why WOULD I care? He wasnt getting it done at NU, why does it matter if he goes to the pros and does well? I DGAF if he does well in the pros, he wasnt getting it done here.
Now if he happened to get a plum D1 job like an Auburn or an LSU after we fired him, like immediately, and he started having great success there, I would be a little miffed. like "Well why couldnt you do it here"?
But since thats not the case at Tech who cares?
Plus Tech fans can always still boast that one of their own alums and coaches is doing a great job in the pros as a head coach..that kinda seems like a win win to me. We could still boast about former Alum Frost doing well as a coach in the pros...while we got rid of him cuz he couldnt cut it at the collegiate level..
And again, purely from the financial aspect of it the pro team would essentially eliminate Frosts buyout money leaving millions more for our new coach and staff.
SO I mean I am not really seeing any downside here...lol
Are you?
I would feel as you put it, miffed, if he went on to be highly successful at a much tougher job, would be thinking, why couldnt that have happened for him here. Not really, guy was a crappy HC at tech only had 2 winning seasons in 6 years..

For me, college and pros are two different animals. There are plenty of successful college football coaches that were not good NFL coaches and plenty of good NFL coaches who couldn't cut it at the college level.I would feel as you put it, miffed, if he went on to be highly successful at a much tougher job, would be thinking, why couldnt that have happened for him here.
Should have married a chubby Nebraska girl. Could have given him 10 or 12 strong farm boys. They'd grow up to be linebackersBecause the fans and media have turned on him, his job is no fun and depressing, and his wife reportedly doesn't like it here. More likely just fat farm kids now who prioritize farming over team sports in school. Rural teacher/coach here, way more prevalent than you would think.Should have married a chubby Nebraska girl. Could have given him 10 or 12 strong farm boys. They'd grow up to be linebackers
