Basically stating it’s over. When Sipple even addresses it you know it’s bad. He usually backs coaches even when it’s not warranted. This decision will be easy for Trev.
I hope Frost’s people can come to a financial agreement like the Red Carpet experience. Frost is given 10 million and 5 million is donated to underserved kids. Or build turf parks in Lincoln and name them after The Frost Family so he at least leaves doing something good over 4 years.

This 4 years have put things into perspective.

There are 3-4 realistic "wow" coaches in my book. And 3-4 more "Hey, I am a-ok with that."

Followed by a half dozen "I bet they can do it but have a lot to prove."

It is a very very important decision for Trev, but from a fan and media stand point, he can walk a lot of different names out in front of the cameras and the fans will buy in.

I have faith in Trev....because I have no other choice. However, I get a good vibe from him and I hope he makes the best decision for the program no matter how many people question it. We hired him, gotta let him take action since he has the absolute best view of the situation.

Who knows

Frosts head coaching career is basically dead. He had a great thing going at UCF and left there to be the savior of Nebraska football. Now he’s getting run out of town on a rail tarred and feathered by his Alma Mater.

That never looks good on a resume. Had he stayed at UCF he would probably be the top choice for the USC gig If UCF had kept their success going all this time.

The way Nebraska treats their last 4 head coaches, why would someone with a future want to come and coach there?

And yes, Iowa sucks at football too.

I am interested to hear sip tomorrow. He has given every excuse in the book and has been such a lap dog for Frost it has been hard to listen to.

If I'm Frost and I'm asked to take any sort of haircut on the Benjamins I kindy tell Trev no thanks. Besides, whatever number it ends up being you have to cut it in half.

Quite the opposite. He has been given more leash than he should have been. No reasonable person could argue Frost wasn't given plenty of time to turn it around, to the point we rationalized keeping him because of a few "good losses" ....that is the exact opposite of everything you just said.

Not that I think Nebraska is everyone's dream job or anything like that, but this is an idiotic statement. Frost was paid a fortune, had an enormous budget for assistant coaches' salaries and was given tremendous resources. Yet he has failed to meet even the most modest expectations.

What constitutes fair treatment of coaches in your mind? The ability to make nepotism hires and stick with them, no matter how badly they drag the program down?

I Herky has no idea what he is spewing his crap about..

Pelini did it to himself..
Callahan needed to fire his defensive coordinator.
Riley and Frost were and will be paid very handsomely for 6 out of 7 losing seasons..

Trev Alberts would be best served to ignore any boosters who clamor for a "wow" hire or big name retread and simply find a good man who is a perfect fit for coaching winning football in the Great Plains.

This is such a stupid arguement. Every head coach that coaches football at the D1 level knows you get fired with 4 straight losing seasons. Every single one of them.

Yea Sipple is and has been DONUs lap dog for years and is almost always one of the last to concede in the media circles etc. Kinda telling, this really sucks as none of us but maybe a few wanted Frost to be the answer for so many reasons besides winning. Time to move on, again

Not that you some of you nice folks will ever understand it, but you fired a coach that won 9 games almost every year (Solich) , his successor (Bo) did win at least 9 games every year, and a B1G Division title, still got fired. Then Callahan and Riley started the downward spiral. Now your savior is on the hot seat. Seems like each successive coach drives you further into the basement. That’s all I’m saying.

Iowa is the opposite, we hang on to mediocrity for decades. Not sure which is worse.

So your reasoning says our next hire makes us Kansas. Let's take the chance. It's better to hope for better than to settle for being Vanderbilt.

And here I thought Callahan followed Solich (the average at best coach who wrecked a Ferrari of a program). Thanks for helping us with Nebraska history Idiot Out Wandering Around.

Had Frost stayed at UCF there’s nothing to tell me his success would’ve outlasted Milton’s tenure. Yeah, 2017 would’ve bought him a decade long leash there, but he’d get canned eventually.

How has Nebraska treated Scott Frost poorly? He was given everything we wanted/needed and we stuck by him through 3 consecutive losing seasons, at some point enough is enough and you have to move on, right?

Yes, I think so. Now, if you believe the whistleblower about the illegal practice sessions was an inside job to reduce his buyout I would say thats treating him poorly. If that's what actually happened. No idea if true.
