Charity exhibition on BTN+ for free this morning. Will be interesting to see how they look against a power 6 opponent.
A Sweet 16 team from last year that lost several starters but that is bringing in a higher-ranked recruiting class than Nebraska.

Nebraska looking good. We're not going to be a great rebounding team but looks like we should score a lot of points this year.

Not Sweet 16, but CU did get a first-round NCAA win. Young team in part because Tad Boyle asked his "COVID seniors" to move on, but have a lot of talent returning. I'm only listening to the audio, but sounds like the Huskers are hammering what should be a decent Colorado team in just about every phase.

82-67 Final. Feel pretty good about the peformance. Need to work on rebounding but there are shooters literally everywhere on this team. Gonna be an interesting season. Gut tells me we are at least an NIT team this year.

I'd consider NIT appearance as success this year, how about you?

I like what I seen today for an exhibition.. We have some growing pains but the good news is we have plenty of perimeter shooters and more talent to attach the basket..

Beat a young Colorado team.. November 16 will be the first real test against Creighton..

They look way better than I thought they would this early. Hitting 3's all over the place and swinging the ball around (at least in the first half they were). I was saying last year they need to look for the corner 3 way more often and they were doing that to great effect in the 1st half. Lots of easy open 3's that they hit to build a big lead.

Other things:

Had no idea Verge was this good of a passer. That's a great thing to see.

Missing Derrick Walker last season hurt us bad. This guy is a real player and does a lot of stuff that doesn't show up on the stat sheet.

Bryce McGowens looks lost out there a lot of the time. Needs to make more decisive moves when he gets the ball. He let the defense collapse on him too much.

Still saw some stuff from last year that I didn't like. Bad habits are hard to break. Need to kick out to the open 3 instead of trying to penetrate into 2-3 guys in the paint. Saw Lat and Trey do this. This is a part of why we were so bad last year. Too many guys trying to force things.

Also would like to see us be less like the football team and understand when we're up 16 points with a little over 5 min left in the game it's time to bleed the shot clock a little bit.

Good win even if it was only an exhibition.

Yes although I think a tourney appearance is possible. Will probably only take 18 wins given our SOS to get to the big dance. I think this group can get there if Verge and Walker can stay healthy. They are clearly are best 2 players. Bryce shows flashes but he looks very raw right now.

I only caught a 5 minute highlight video but Verge continuing his early success. Agree that him and Walker are huge and they have great chemistry.

Bryce actually led in scoring with 15 so that’s already a huge step for him against better competition. The one highlight he had reminded me of Shavon Shields.

The depth will also prove to be huge down the stretch. Hoiberg has had a tough couple of years but this year feels like not a ton of room for excuses. The roster looks fantastic we just have to hope that holds true starting November 16th. Can’t wait! I pray that Fred can show everyone (Frost) what a real coach and turning around a dead program looks like!

I think you better get used to that and it will only be worse in conference play. Dude is not a 4 and is not a 5.
The dude looked pretty good glad we have him. He is just a freshman that hasn’t played in a real game yet. He works hard and will only get better.

He will just never be a rebounder, it is not what he is good at and not what they really want him to do.

Tough to gauge this team after 2 exhibitions. Going to see what the group looks like around Christmas. Kobe Webster is the only player on the roster that has played in front of a crowd at PBA and that was 2 years ago when he played for Western Illinois. HCFH still trying to get rotations figured out also. Hell I'm excited the bigs can actually catch a ball after watching Jordy & Duby the last few years. And to see them catch and score is even better.

The bandwagon only has a few spaces left. Jump on and see what a real coach can do!
