Yep, I’m threading an exhibition game. I’m amped to see this team. I’m not expecting huge things this season but it will be fun to watch this talent grow.

Sounds like Verge is a heck of a distributor. Breidenbach getting some good work in. We had a Trey to Bryce lob already. Tominaga has a 3. My boy Kent Pavelka bringing this thing to life. Sounds like Fred playing a lot of young guys tonight. Currently 30-24 Huskers 😬

I’m just listening on the radio. Anyone watching on BTN+?

Just looked at the box score, looks like a rough debut for Bryce McGowens so far. Only 2 points (1-for-7 from the field) and 2 turnovers, against Peru State?

Ooos. I made a thread too. I am watching on 10+. Female announcer is pretty lame. Bryce is very timid so far. Had a rebound ripped from him and shot clock was running out and he did not attack. He needs his brothers intensity if U ask me.

the first time he touched the ball he turned it over, he’s had a slow start for sure. Will need to button it up vs. Colorado.

Peru states big is on fire from 3. Peru state has extended their defense so far out not sure why we haven’t gutted them underneath more with cuts.

Ok. He made such a sweet play in 2nd half. Starting to see his talent !

Verge is a leader it seems. Playing like a pro against lesser talent. 16 points, 7 dimes, 1 TO and 3 steals. He’s gonna be a huge addition

Backend 5 stars aren’t typically studs from the get go. He’s shown some flashes tonight but as of now he’s far from our most important player. Unfortunately he may be one of those guys who has a so-so freshman year but leaves for the draft based solely on his potential.

Verge looks awesome. Very crafty, great passer. Wilhelm looks smooth. Tominaga doesn’t look as small as I expected.

He has grown up a ton from his HS days, now that he doesn't have handlers in his ear anymore.

He is THE addition to the team and more than likely the 2nd or 3rd best PG in the conference behind Curbelo and who knows who else.

I know it's early and Peru St. but I knew Verge was our best player immediately after watching his ASU highlights. He has change of direction and ballhandling skills that we have not seen in Lincoln in a long time, if ever. B. McGowens is gonna need to adjust to the college game and hopefully it happens real quick.

Couldn’t agree more. Finally a proven power 5 transfer. Even if he’s not the best player, he will be the most important. He’s going to make this offense click. Edwards, Wilcher seemed good in limited time also. Tominaga hitting contested 3’s was nice to see.

Hoiberg got them adjusted and focused in the second half to run away with it (as they should have) Im just relieved we get to see some good coaching again here soon.

Good points.

I think the top six in the rotation are clear. Verge, McGowens, McGowens, Mayen, Walker, and Breidenbach. What I really like is that the next three (Wilcher, Tominaga, Edwards) are all good shooters, so you can play the hot hands in any given game.

Disappointed that Eduardo didn’t play a bigger role. I guess it just speaks to the quality of Walker and Breidenbach, because Eduardo really impressed me last year and again tonight. Good to know we have him as insurance behind the other two.

Definitely a lot more talent. But most of it is either young, has to adjust to the college level or new to the team. I expect a fairly pedestrian first half of the year and then major improvement as we go through the BIG 10.
I still think we need a lot more meat and height to really compete in the BIG 10, but I am super excited to see this team grow.

That's a solid rotation. I have a feeling Edwards, or possibly Wilcher, will be our #3 scorer.

So you can't rely on a freshman to come in and lead our team to prominence? Who would have thought!

Eduardo missed some time with either an injury or illness, wasn't even in the team photo. Expect to see more of him esp in B1G play, thought he looked good too.

Looked like we are 11 maybe even 12 deep right now with guys that could play if needed. The first 9 last night will see a lion shares of the minutes, but a long season , who the opponent is and the grind of the B1G will probably dictate how this plays out. We def added some shooters and yes I know it was Peru State but we had guys that couldn't hit those shots last 2 years no matter who the opponent was.

Radio, of course. TV on BTN+, the second of six men's hoops games on BTN+ between Oct. 27 and Nov. 27. Might be worth a month's subscription at $9.95.
Yup, they got me on the hook last night. Worth every penny...

Wilhelm was the best overall frosh last night, followed by Keon, then Bryce and C.J.

Just one game, but Wilhelm and Keon were ready to play. Keon didn't play much last year at DePaul after joining the team for the second semester, so that had to help him.

Plus a couple of volleyball matches and lots of women's basketball games, even through the conference season.
That's right forgot about that. I have to tell y'all listening to Buzzy Caruthers the Director of Player development do the color commentary was a breath of fresh air and insightful.

Np, forgot to mention dude has the quickest release and sweetest stroke. Funny part is he might not even be the best shooter on the team, keep an eye on Edwards.
This fires me up. It would be awesome to have a competitive basketball team this year. I'm in Raleigh and going to the NC State game and would love to knock them off. Lot's of my co-workers already talking ****.

The key is to stream Husker radio and mute BTN+

Alonzo Verge looks like a real dude out there, he could be a double-double guy with his passing ability. Was also impressed with the tall kid with glasses. He's a lot more coordinated than I expected. Our 5 star frosh didn't flash much but made a few defensive plays look effortless. Exhibition with Colorado should tell us a little more than last night did.
