Not necessarily new. I think what you under-estimate what the feelings of current boosters are. There's a reason Frost has gotten the leash has gotten and it is in large part because he still has the support of the money.

Name the "quarter of the starters on offense this year" that are in year one.

Edit: while you are doing your research, list all the teams in our division who have recruited better than Nebraska the past four years. How do you explain the success at Michigsn St with a coach in his second year? Or how does Minnesota continually own us? I know you want to tell us how close we are but we aren't playing horse shoes and that other game and last I looked, we are still losing. While you are doing your homework, how many seniors do we lose from the D?

Frost leaves and a bunch of kids transfer for some reason (ones that are not winning games now), my guess is a few transfer, regardless of Frost staying or going.

Then it is that the recruiting class (that sucks) will fall apart.

I mean, that is a lot of what-ifs when we sort of know the Frost results.

Exactly and actually I think this is going to be a lot of coaches move going forward.

The transfer portal, for a lot of schools, will be the recruiting portal. Kids that are mad it did not work out at their dream school are much more likely to listen to the NU pitch.

Well, you may want to do at least basic research before making claims. Ervin is a true freshman, that is one. Corcoran played last year in 3 games, started 1. Benhart is listed as a sophomore with 1 varsity letter.

That is a long ways from a quarter of the team.

MSU was depleted and brought in at least 20 through the transfer portal. They weren't exactly a juggernaut prior to the new staff coming in. But yet, somehow, they managed to get kids to transfer and largely because they were depleted of talent and they are now playing at a high level IN YEAR TWO. You simply cannot ignore what they have overcome there and what they have accomplished. Oh, and are they a blue blood we hear so much about?

No that really doesn't take years to overcome. If being whimps was the main reason for our struggles and Frost was the man to change that, we would have seen immediate improvement in year 1. But we didn't see that because Frost isn't that guy, and I've honestly seen more evidence of a culture of whimpiness under Frost than I ever saw under Riley.

Aranda is the better choice..

I've heard Dave Aranda's name out there pretty regularly. I for one think NU is a much better 'brand' than Baylor but at this point, I don't know if NU is a better 'job'. Baylor has very nice facilities. In the heart of a fertile recruiting ground. And now that UT, OU left they have a much better chance to represent the Big 12 in whatever bowl/playoff scenario comes in the future. Don't get me wrong I'd love to have him here from the looks of what he's doing at Baylor...just think we are not that desirable at this time...maybe I'm wrong.

Barry Alvarez was LB coach for 6 years at Iowa then 2 years as DC for Notre Dame when Wisconsin hired him as their head coach. Alvarez turned Wisconsin into a powerhouse even though he had no head coaching experience.

Leonhard would be a bold move, no doubt. You put him on the short list for an interview and let him make the case.

This much is almost certain: Jim Leonhard has a proven record as an outstanding DC at Wisconsin, arguably the best in the B10. Alvarez agrees with me. He will be a head coach in the very near future. Give him a shot.

Someone will pick him up and be very happy! Maybe as happy as Cincinnati is with Luke Fickell.

You never know how things will turn out. I and many on here thought Frost was ready and would be very successful after his record at UCF. What a dud he has been!

All talk and a total disaster on the Offensive side of the ball and Special Teams. A big problem is he tries to be too cute in the Red Zone with a play call in an attempt to dazzle everyone when it is not needed. It’s OK to be be bread and butter when it gets you TDs. He may be learning on the job but I’m afraid his ego won’t let him change.

So yeah, Leonhard is an unknown commodity but he shows consistency in his defense each year. He would probably make a better HC than Frost as two guys that are learning on the job.
