Pretty rough first half
bryce is not being very aggressive. His brother and Verge are tough as nails. Peru St hitting their 3’s. Peru’s defense is so extended that we have to have easy buckets getting under that. Need much better execution on offense (other than Verge who has been awesome, can’t complain there at all dude came out so ready even without the start). So great to have fans in the arena but I’m watching on ****** Big10+

Watched some highlights. Looks like we have some really good depth and the talent is much improved. Really like what Alonzo Verge did and think having Walker Breidenbach and Andre in the post we'll be able to hold our own on the inside.

Not at all. Team is just trying to figure out lineups, plays, etc. And the main reason for that stat is Verge scored 20 as a “bench” player.

They looked like a team that has pieces to compete. Role players who can snipe. Trey and Verge can penetrate and make plays. We know what we’re getting from Walker, and Wilhelm and Andre looked impressive. Just will need some time to gel, and hopefully Bryce gets up to speed by conference play. He definitely looked raw.

Nebraska vs Peru St (?)

Alonzo Verge in the B1G! He's a vet at this point and got pretty much anything he wanted against this school I've never heard of. He also made some really good passes.
This team is big, primarily at the guard positions. The McGowen bros are massive. Will be a really interesting matchup against our smaller perimeter guys.
Derrick Walker looked awesome. Him and Verge on the P&R is going to be deadly. Really agile for a 6'9" guy. Unfortunately for the Huskers, he looks to be their only truly competant big man.
Mayen looks to round a legitimately solid starting 5. The question will be their depth. They played I think 4 freshman big minutes.
Breidenbach is a 6'10" freshman who wears goggles. Very punchable face and his game is just ugly. We're gonna hate him for years to come.
Keon Edwards looks like a player. 6'7" transfer from Depaul who's bouncy and can shoot it.
Peru St shot the lights out but part of that was how horrible Nebraska was defensively on switches and rotations and how poorly they rebound. This was a 12 point game with 12 minutes left. Nebrasketball might be better this year but they're definitely going to have some growing pains. Verge may make a push for All B1G Teams.

So basically we need to get more aggressive defensively in their face and learn to take advantage of opponents mistakes.

Finally we have a skilled big man with a punchable face!! This is big news as we all know you need an awesome big with the punchable face to have a chance in the B1G! Good job Fred!
