When you're Alonzo Spellman's son (former Chicago Bears defensive lineman), you just don't always measure up.

I think Scott's style rubbed him the wrong way and it was probably better for all parties. I wish JD could have stuck it out, but he's a different cat.

No doubt about that. But it is hard to imagine he is going to reflect on this and think he made the right decision.

he was good and the receiver we had the year before him was real good, then you have to go back to westercamp to find a standout.or maybe kenny bell, I forget, I think he was ok

this is why the running game has a huge advantage in cold weather states

Wait. Hold on. This is new to me. Someone in the know needs to provide details. This is mine boggling to me. I’d love to hear wtf that was all about. If so, why wasn’t he just simply kicked off of team

Especially mind boggling because he was from Minnesota where it gets really cold, and not someplace like Florida or Arizona.

why? He was never an NFL wide receiver. If he enjoyed his time at TCU better than he did Nebraska, than it was the right decision, for him. The hardest thing for fans to do is realize that random player doesn't love their team as much as the fan does. His TCU education is going to do him just fine in his future.

He nearly retired from here. This isn’t a surprise. Doesn’t have the passion to go with his talent.

fair point, but I think the whole ordeal where he tried to lead a mutiny against practicing in the snow is an indictment on his passion.
Assuming he was the one leading the mutiny? He played high school football in Minnesota for crying out loud.

He took a bunch of unnecessary hits on balls thrown over his head or off the mark left or right. I never questioned his toughness on the field. I have a hard time believing a guy from the Twin Cities is leading a revolt over cold weather practices.

Why? Because he is a football player and didn’t have any success at TCU. And obviously he didn’t love his team(s), but he transferred to play football and sucked doing that.

As for his TCU education. I’m guessing dads money and connections will help more.

you sound like a typical jealous dude who didn't have the ability to play at the collegiate level. So because you didn't have that ability, you think that anyone that does have the ability, for some reason, owes you something.

JD did what JD wanted to do. He owes you or any of us nothing.

You sound like an idiot. Owes me? Where the **** do you get some ******** like that from? Typical internet tough guy, at his finest.

JD had three good seasons at Nebraska and was bad at TCU, no way to spin that any different. It isn’t about me. The guy transferred and was no good at his new school. Me being a slow, white boy that sucked at small college basketball doesn’t change that.

No it doesn't change that. It also doesn't change the fact that you know nothing about why JD left Nebraska but for some reason you feel the need to tell anyone that will read your posts that you think he made a mistake. But you base your opinion on nothing but football statistics. Again, you sound like a guy that was never good enough athletically to do anything at a higher level.

Internet tough guy, is the guy who questions the toughness or the decision making of a college football player when the highest level you ever reached was 8th grade B team.

K? Pretty testy when it’s not a knock on him. Some don’t like the sport they’re best at, or lose the passion.
It is a knock on him. You straight up questioned his desire and fortitude to play the game. You have zero idea what it takes to play at that level. Like HeadCard, you are more upset that you never had the ability to play at that level, so you are questioning a guy who you think pissed away something you could never have.

Tough guy at it again. Attacking me (pathetically) because I can point out basic statistics?

No I don’t think JD can possibly look back on this move and think it worked out well, especially considering he just quit on TCU in the middle of the season. Sorry that gets your panties in a bunch .

I would bet you everything you own that his decision had nothing to do with statistics on the football field. But for a guy that wishes he could play at that level, that is all you look at. He decided he didn't want to play college football anymore. That is what gets your panties in a bunch, because you would give your left nut to do what he didn't want to do.

Once again a legit post turns into a dick measuring contest among commenters. Your next post should let us all know what you bench and run the forty in or discussing JD. Knock this **** off.

You are a clueless, dumbass little ***** as usual. I am an old man that has no desire to play college football. Why you think otherwise is beyond me and honestly bizarre, but no one is accusing you of being mentally stable. And let’s be honest you don’t have a dam clue why the kid left. You just want to run your stupid mouth, as internet tough guys do.

My advice is to let it go. It's not worth the aggravation.
