based on all of the above

total yards: iowa 13th, ill 12th, mn 9th
points: ill 14th, mn 8th, iowa 6th(courtesy of 52 vs MD)

purdue's defense has faced one real test all season (last week, stopping wisc rushing attack), and failed miserably

this game should be over by halftime
Is Nebraska oline going to push the Purdue dline around like Wisconsin?

Didn't realize the Nebraska oline was really good. That is my bad.
they're not. hasn't stopped us from piling up 212 yards/game, though.

you don't need a 'really good' oline to run on purdue. duh.

added note - purdue runs for 74 yards/game. 74!! wow. that is inept as inept gets.

huskers going away

Ya. Their run D isn't perfect. I expect Nebraska to run for 125 to 150 or so. Saying they will run for 250 and game be over by halftime would mean Nebraska completed a combo no other team has done yet, including ND and Wisconsin though. It will be a good game, unless Nebraska starts getting to the QB.

wisconsin game was over at halftime, guy. I said as much on this board.

purdue's run D doesn't rank in the top half of the b1g.

this game shouldn't be close at all, and the point spread reflects that.

I thought Wisconsin's OL was struggling this year. Our OL is not good. We do have a diverse run game that has put up yards despite our OL. At least between the 20's. But our weak OL is a huge part of our redzone issues.

A running QB really worries me. I think Graham is going to have to shadow Martinez like leonard does for the colts. The Purdue DE's are aggressive. If they get upheld, there will be room to run for Adrian.

Purdue typically plays 1 on 1 on the outside with Cam Allen over the top. Grant comes down into the box a lot. The CB's do a good job, but there is room for elite receivers to make plays.

13-13 and getting the ball says otherwise, but ok. Good luck this week. Gonna be a fun game between two borderline .500 teams.

I mean, the final score indicates that it was over, did Purdue even score again? I loaded up on Wisky second half line. Easy cash.

This game is two lame teams going at each other. Can't wait!

You really need to underline and italicize "should " in that statement. And if you could throw in a really sarcastic air quotes GIF that would also be helpful. We're talking about Nebraska here.

Haha right! No. Purdue didn't score again. But that doesn't mean Purdue didn't have a chance at halftime. Wisconsin has Purdue's number and they just melt every time it's competitive. I don't get it. For as great as O'Connell was vs Iowa, he was equally horrible vs Wisconsin.

Don't worry, he will start the gam 16/17 vs NU.

exactly right. if this one's close, the odds dramatically favor our own foibles, not this pedestrian purdue team, as the reason why.

I am just not sure which trend will be reveresed.

Will Purdue all of a sudden score a ton of points?
Will NU all of a sudden finish drives?

Hard to say. I think Purdue is more likely to score points with O'Connell unless you can affect him in the pocket. Plummer just isn't risky enough.

You are delusional if you think any game Nebraska plays is a gimme.
Here's a suggestion for the players though. Holding 4 fingers in the air doesn't do $hi+.. Attack the 4th quarter and end this horror movie. GBR.

So that bolded part is delusional...

But putting 4 fingers down and acting like the it is a horror movie will help them win...not delusional

yep. NU never plays man (we don't have the personnel), but we also don't get to the QB.

if purdue wants to score, they're going to have to do it in 10+ play drives.

NU offense, however, will be just fine. will be, by far, the best offense purdue's D has seen this year. I suspect the 'success' to date points to yet another lame b1g unit that's benefited greatly from playing terrible b1g offenses thus far.

wisconsin, very predictably, destroyed your D line (the "strength" of the D) last week. won by a million while throwing for less than 60 total yards.

I'll say NU 38-13
We have played press man coverage numerous times this year and had very good sucess with it as we used it against OU, Sparty and Shitchicken.

do they play wisc every week? is that why they average 40 yards less than the 13th best rushing offense in the b1g?
Does that account for QB sacks in rushing total?

Not counting UCONN, for obvious reasons, Purdue RB's are averaging 70.6 yards per game. That's including the 20 vs Wisconsin and the Illinois game where we were down our top 2 RB's and playing a freshman walkon. Assuming King plays, I'd expect Purdue to rush for 85ish yards from the RB position.

I'm feeling the Husker chances on this recently. I think we win.

My only concern is playing down to the competition and as Rambo pointed out, letting the game get close. When the game gets close, we make our penalties and mistakes count.

No game is a gimme. But this is the easiest one left by far and the road for Frost to get to 6 starts with a W here.

I am still worried a out a 1st quarter meltdown but Purdue doesn't seem to have the players to cause a meltdown.

If you stop the pass and, not or, score 20 points, I like nebraskas chances. I think it will be a good defensive battle though. Should be fun to watch. Good luck!
