If we lose out and finish 3-9, with 2 of those wins to Fordham and Buffalo, and a terrible recruiting class coming in....how could Trev still buy into what Frost is selling? How could anyone buy it?
It’s hard to even comprehend we could finish 3-9, but after watching Purdue beat Iowa they certainly are no gimme anymore. But Trev may want to show patience, if nothing else to show the next coach he’s reasonable. Who knows though.

That clown went 6-6 at Ohio State including a complete 4th Q collapse against our Huskers, and Urban Meyer came in the next year with the same team and went undefeated.

Phuck that guy.
Yeah. But remember in 95 when TO blew out Sabans MSU team? Saban ended up being a better than .500 coach I think. Some coaches do get better over time

Any ideals?
Luke Fickel, Mark Stoops (probably wouldn't take the job), Tom Allen, Jeff Brohm are names that come to mind.

A lot of fans will clamor for a big name or a wow hire, but if you decide to just hire the best coach you can get, they might have to take a hard look at Coach Entz at NDSU or his predecessor who is at K-State.

I'm just spitballing here, but it would be nice to get a guy like Tom Rathman on the staff in some capacity. And I know nothing about the head coach at Morningside, but he's been kicking the sh*t out of everybody for years at the NAIA level. Maybe he could considered for getting on the staff on the offensive side of the ball?

Marcus Freeman, Notre Dame DC or Dan Lanning, Georgia DC. Start with D, see what OC they could bring in. Hope Trev is talking to agents already, time to move on!

I am a big fan of both and Venables (I know he has turned down HC jobs before).

Looks like Ed Orgeron will be available. Natty. Pedigree. LSU paying part of his salary for the next few years. No brainer. No coach is certain for success.

I'd be ok with urban or gruden too!

Gruden was my first thought. Somebody will take him this year it might as well be us. One thing gruden gives is instant recruiting improvement especially at QB because every recruit knows who he is.
