Nebraska has really good fans. It will take quite a while until your stadium looks like that of the Canes.

Then be happy losing. Be happy to spend 6 to 8 hours of your Saturday watching drunken
keystone cops.

That still wouldn’t even get us to a Bowl. Not sure where Trev stands with this, but it’s hard to see keeping him with another losing season.
Man I hate to lie to you but I think he said something about not measuring Scott by wins and losses but by whether or not you can see progress in the team.

I think defense is going to end up better just because I don't think Iowa or Purdue will score a ton. Ohio State might though. This unit is way better since SF took over.

ST has been better than the start of the season, maybe not since last year. This unit is worse than when SF got here it seems.

The penalties I believe are down since SF took over.

I'm not sure the offense is really much better, yards notwithstanding, since SF took over. And this surprises the heck out of me. I would not have believed you if you told me that would be the case 3 years ago.

how in the hell does Urban keep his job but not Gruden?
urban is just an adulterer, where gruden is clearly supporting racism and white supremacy in a 10 year old email.
the cultural climate is such that sexual degeneracy is non issue, where pagan tribalisum is frowned on
fold the program, turn memorial stadium into a horse track
are you a nebraska fan?

Currentl recruiting class ranking has to be taken into account too.

Really, the head coaches at Baylor, Boston College, NC State, Wake Forest, Coastal Carolina, Army, KSU, and Iowa State should be the main focus, IMO.

The only reason the defense is improved is because Frost has absolutely nothing to do with it.

I’d say Frost’s downfall has been scoring TDs in the red zone. FGs, and f ups inside the 20 yard line don’t cut it against anyone.

In No Order - Just google search them. Most of these people will be Power 5 Head Coaches this year if they want.

Oklahoma DC - Grinch
Georgia DC - Lanning
Toledo HC - Candle
Coastal Carolina HC - Chadwell
Charlotte HC - Healy

Lanning & Grinch are very interesting but I doubt Lanning comes up north. Grinch has Big Ten roots as an Ohio State assistant.

Chadwell, will stay in the southeast, IMO.

Healy might have to go to the MAC or Mountain West first but he is a name that has a turned around program as a good recruiter too. He is very young.
You forgot fickle

I hate to say it but we could look at some SEC assistants like what Arkansas or Georgia have done. Either that or Freeze or Briles. Unrealistic but we should offer 10 million to Urban and see what happens. First coach to get 8 figures might be a big enough ego stroke to entice him but I doubt he would come out to NE.

When someone mentioned firing Frost and giving Chinander a tryout earlier this season, it sounded ridiculous. But it doesn’t sound like such a bad idea to me now. But the extra $5 million that we would owe Frost if he’s fired before the end of the season probably means that it is not an option.
I read this and it just occurred to me that that’s a lot of dough, Joe. 5 million for this? Wow! But you know what? I would have paid it too. What a colossal disappointment. I wouldn’t have a clue who Trev could hire….but I’ll bet Trev does.

Give me John Stiegelmeier from SDSU and let him open up the checkbook for who he wants on the offensive staff.

Have him keep Chinander and let him decide what changes he needs on that side.

True leadership would do this program wonders.

There's about as much chance of that happening as you or I being named head coach.

Any chance Chris Petersen wants to get back into coaching?

He'd probably go to USC if he does. But he'd be a home run hire.

The Big Red Overreaction folks were saying that was the dagger in Scott Frost's coaching career at Nebraska....2017 all over again.

A couple of other posters and myself said to give Coach Chin the interim tag.

If Frost were to get fired, you do it tomorrow (bye week) or wait until the day after Iowa game and then announce the new head coach right after.

The "open up the checkbook" posts are always the best.

Where are you at on whether we should keep Frost if he has another losing season?

I’ve said all along I thought we needed a Bowl Game to justify keeping this staff. And until today, I was pretty sure we would get there. If they can’t win with this group of guys (JoJo, Daniels, CTB, Allen, Toure, Manning, Betts, etc) when are they ever going to win? If Trev wants to force staff changes and continue to try to teach Scott how to run a program, I’ll support it, but it might just be better to move on now, with the small, underwhelming recruiting class and all.

After Frost beat fleck in 2018 fleck fired his dc and was successful immediately. Heads need to roll, Frost is too comfortable being mediocre.

Yeah I doubt it. I think he can win 2 more. It would not surprise me if he did not, but it's definitely possible. Wisconsin and Purdue seem the most likely right?

Iowa and OSU look almost impossible after today.
Lolol Iowa looked like who everyone thought they were today. Nebraska is dogsh!t but the team was admittedly uninspired. No way they'll be that soft against Iowa.

Matt Campbell would get crushed in the Big 10. He thrives off of playing quasi Big 10 style football in the soft Big 12.

he’s essentially a Great Value Harbaugh. Soon as he’s week in, week out playing other smash mouth teams he’s gonna look a lot more average.

At Nebraska he could do even better.
Ive heard this for the past 20 years and it has yet to be true.

once you let go of this myth, you’ll feel liberated.

we don’t get to have high standards anymore

Other than Frost, when have you heard it? Everyone knew Mike Riley would fail. Solich and Pelini weren't Head Coaches before. Callahan wasn't a college coach. Yeah we were wrong about Frost. It doesn't mean a guy that has made Iowa State a winner wouldn't have success at a school with more resources and name recognition.

around any coordinator/position coach hire we've made. then there's the strange delusions about Craig Bohl. can think of others if you really need me to.
Everyone knew Mike Riley would fail.
revisionism. the koolaid was strong with Riley. the day he was hired, not so much, but many had developed this weird "he could be the next Saban" narrative setup around the fact that Saban peaked at 10 wins at Michigan St, then flamed out in the NFL. i'll buy that you thought he would fail, but i remember the hype all too well to pretend "everyone knew he would fail."

the "he had 8 winning seasons at Oregon State, imagine what he's gonna do here!!" talk was in full swing.
Yeah we were wrong about Frost.
consider that being wrong about Frost once means its possible for you to be wrong again.
It doesn't mean a guy that has made Iowa State a winner wouldn't have success at a school with more resources and name recognition.
anything is possible, but i'm just not buying the whole "more resources and recognition" game at this point since we're not recruiting 45 year olds who witnessed 90's CFB and especially not when the apparent savior is another guy who can't beat Iowa or win the Big 12. sounds like a combination of Pelini and Riley.

Pretty sure Iowa is not going to have a motivation issue with Nebraska. When was the last time Nebraska beat Iowa? And thus Iowa team is better than any we've seen since being in the b1g

My Top Three would be:
1) Tommie Frazier
2) Lawrence Phillips
3) Christian/Jason Peter (co-head coaches)

Any of of those guys would understand that you have to have 120 walk-ons and play Sirius for the tunnel walk.
What, they going to get Phillips to show up via a seance?

Marcus Freeman, Notre Dame DC or Dan Lanning, Georgia DC. Start with D, see what OC they could bring in. Hope Trev is talking to agents already, time to move on!
