6 Wins is still possible

But it starts next week. Minnesota & Purdue are absolutely must win. Lose either and it’s goodbye to the season. Then we will probably have to beat Wisconsin because I don’t see very good officiating in the Ohio St or Iowa game.

So like I said screw moral victories. Just win 3 more games. The path is there. To quote Al Davis “Just win baby!”

NU will be favored in those games and should win. I also feel that Wisconsin is a win if NU can handle Camp Randle. It's a matter of playing clean and avoiding stupid mistakes. Ohio St and Iowa are beatable as well. This year there are no invincible teams.

I'm not worried about getting to 6 wins anymore. I just want to see us beat MN and Purdue. If we win those games then we have made a lot of progress. Beating WI would be a nice F U to them.

I stated during the week that people shouldn't have hyped up the MI game since a 3-3 record in those 6 games gets a bowl game.

Frost now officially has nothing to lose. They need to play like it is their last game ever, because it might be.

Don’t move the goal posts. It’s been 6 wins since week 1. Frost gets there, he’s safe. He doesn’t, it’s gets iffy.

It’s gotta be Minnesota, Purdue and probably Wisconsin. I don’t see Ohio St or Iowa as wins. (I think we can hang with Iowa, but if they are still undefeated there is no way the officials will let us win.)

I just find it more and more unlikely that Nebraska is able to overcome turnovers at the most inopportune times, biased refs, and the head scratching playcalling at times.

Nebraska has a habit of going into zombie mode when playing in Minnesota. And they get 2 weeks to prepare for the Moral Victory national champions.

Purdue is a chance for a win - maybe.

Ohio St will crush Nebraska's nut sack. They're focused and will treat the Huskers like a red headed step child.

Wisconsin's defense will dick stomp Nebraska's offense. It might be a 9 overtime game.

Iowa will lull them to sleep and win with discipline.
About that 9 OT thing. We haven't scored a single point in 3 or 4 OT games in the Frost era so might take us breaking the Wiscy kicker's leg for that to happen. Just sayin.

I just hope a complaint is filed with the conference about the officiating for this game. I know it will fall on deaf ears, but I probably would have gone full Pelini or worse on those refs. The complete unheard of calls in this game is enough to warrant a decent, friendly punch to the stomach for them.

every ref involved should've had their heads lopped off in front of the brass rail

THis is the part I'm worried about " It's a matter of playing clean and avoiding stupid mistakes"

If we lose to gophers, we can lose to Purdue too. If we lose to the gophers, finishing 3-9 with a 6 game losing streak becomes a very realistic scenario. No pressure.

6 wins is still possible but this should be what we were saying in year two. Not year four.

What does this mean to you? Does this mean you think we should move on from this staff?

I agree this is where we probably thought we would be in year two. But I guess I am looking at where we are now and trying to decide what the best move is and to me all that matters is where we are now and what the future looks like (I'm honestly not sure on either). Should it matter that it is year four? Are we firing the staff for a pathetic year two or year three? If so, we should have done that then, right?

I just don't think we are seeing the progress we should be seeing.

Not to mention, sadly, all the games they could win or lose.

If I was Trev, I would move on ASSUMING if and only if, I had my dude lined up, the guy that I wanted the most out of anyone.

I still think if they get 2/3 from OSU, Lamesconsin and Iowa. Everything is okay.

I just think Trev was hired to have a new guy lined up...just in case.

By the way, the new stuff they do during the games (that I assume Trev came up with) is pretty cool.

I totally agree, but 6 wins seems to be the consensus bare minimum to avoid putting Frost squarely on the hot seat. I’ve been saying for awhile now that I would quit calling for his job until 6 wins was no longer possible. I’m doing my best to be supportive until then.

6 wins is a joke. Pining over 6 wins in year 4 tells you all you need to know about the Frost era.

Winning in college football is harder today than any previous time. Every team is invested in football... even Purdue and NW. I think they get 6 wins. Hope to God they beat Iowa!

We play 5 teams currently in the top 10 this year. We dropped one we shouldn’t have. A 6-6 season is respectable the way we’ve gotten here so far. Schedule matters in college football. Hard to demand a coach wins 7 or 8 games when 5/12 are top 10 teams. This team has been much better outside of Illinois. If we continue to play like this and end up with 5 or 6, I’m not ready to move on from frost. But we have to keep improving and the pressure remains next year, where the schedule likely won’t allow the same win total as acceptable.

A lot of progress and growth in this football program has happended the last few weeks. A lot. It's great to see the growth finally happening.

6 wins is gettable. Beat Minnesota and go from there.
