Minn - win

Purdue - win

O$U - loss

Wisky - win

Iowa - loss

6-6 and a bowl game ... which we win
It's possible. That is how I would view those games as of tonight as well. This program has made major strides since the Buffalo game and all of those games, besides OSU, could end up in the win column.

Iowa isn't going to set the world on first with explosiveness or creativity, but they are well coached and don't make mistakes. That game will very much be like the first quarter against Michigan.

I think Alberts keeps him if he goes 5-7 because of the cost of the buyout and the lack of desire to start all over again.
Or because there is actual growth happening. This team tonight would whip the *** of any of the previous teams Frost had at Nebraska. They almost beat a team that could win the conference.

dude, where have you been?? we have lost many like this

These last couple have hurt a lot worse. We actually seem like a good team, have had multiple Top 10 teams on the ropes and gave it away. Just seems a lot different than 18 NW or last years Minnesota game.

Are you looking to join Clownbo on my ignore list? You do realize when the rankings come out tomorrow 5 of the top 10 teams in the country will be from the Big Ten? And that's with the SEC having more conference members than we do.
We will be back starting next year.

Yep, it helps a lot to have hope again.

Everyone seems happy for 6-7 losses in year four. Sounds about right.

Dont think that is true at all. Are you saying you think we should fire the staff? Is that the best move for Nebraska right now?

Sadly, I think I need to see a few more games. I see genuine progress. Going into the game, this was the first time in a long time I felt Nebraska could win against a solid and ranked opponent.

If we sh*t the bed in the remaining games, I'll probably be back on the "perhaps we should move on" train.

Nobody is saying fire the staff tomorrow.

If they lose 4 of the 5 remaining games? Yes, absolutely, I think the best move is to fire the staff. How could you justify another 4-8 season in Year 4, with such an experienced team? Even Lovie Smith made a bowl game in Year 4 at Illinois.

The close losses have provided some encouragement, but a loss at Minnesota could derail the rest of the season completely. Let's wait and see how the rest of the season goes.

No. But it might be after the end of the season depending on how it plays out. The dude has to win at some point. Not just come close week after week. I like the progress, but damn, it's year four. I sure as hell hope that he would show some progress. Unfortunately, the goal in football is to win the game. He had better start winning some of them quick.

4 winnable games left. If Frost can't win 3 of them, then he needs to go.
Get the Frost getting fired out of your head. He isnt going anywhere even if he loses the rest of the games.

I see Minn, Purdue, Wisky and Iowa as wins.

Iowa comes into Lincoln undefeated and leaves with a loss and berth to the CCG. They will also lose to Penn State with a healthy Clifford and be out of the Playoffs.

We finish with 7 wins then an 8th in the bowl game. Frost gets rid of Mario and the Oline coach and Husker nation is happy and we win 10 games next season.

I think they can definitely beat Minnesota and Purdue. Not sure about Wisky or Iowa. Toss ups. The Iowa game doesn’t scare me. Would love to see them beat Ohio St!

2 wins out of the remaining 5 games...5-7...frost apologists will be celebrating like we won a national championship.

because of the progress being made, and if it continues, they won't fire Frost. He still needs to improve, but if I am the AD, I'm curious how things are going to look with a different QB. And we probably get AM back next year..

it's like this freaking curse that won't go away, but before I part with 20 million, I want to see how things work when he has an actual competitive athlete running things back there.

Adrian is nothing like the 'warrior' adjective being used by the head coach. Physically gifted, big time, but when he ducks out and doesn't even attempt to go for the first down.. I have nothing but disdain for that type of behavior and I question why the coach hasn't been able to see this from the beginning. He is at fault for playing this kid and everything that has happened as a result of it.

Frost’s job is safe and sound. The team is clearly improved. I believe we have the 2nd toughest schedule in the country. It’s usually a Martinez turnover (or 2 or 3) that does us in. You have to think we’re just a good crunch-time QB away from winning a lot of these games. We belong at every other position

It isn't safe at all. No way you can justify keeping a coach who can't produce a winning season in year 4. I want Frost to be successful and keep being the coach, but to do that he needs to start winning games like we had last night. Moral victories don't cut it anymore. They need to start turning into real victories. I don't see how Frost stays with another losing season. 6-6 should be the absolute minimum of what is acceptable this year.

We also could fall at Minnesota next week and then nobody could justify keeping him.

In my opinion, the most critical game for Frost this year will be how the Huskers perform against Ohio State.

Three weeks ago, I was 100% for SF being let go. Then a couple weeks ago, SF FINALLY began to replace some of the pathetic starters we had in the OL, and I began my flip-flop, I felt Trev was having a huge impact on SF, and the program was benefitting.

I predicted before the season NU would finish 4-8. Those offensive changes made me adjust my prediction to 5-7, a slight chance at 6-6. Now I am willing, not that any of us have any say in the matter, to consider keeping SF, even at 5-7.

That 5-7 is totally dependent on how NU does against OSU. If NU plays very well and loses 35-28 or something like that, I could eat that 5-7 record. But, if NU has a poor day and OSU throws at will and gives NU a beatdown something like 42-14, then it's time for SF to go.

The probable wins against MN and Purdue, and even a close loss to IA would be acceptable, but a blowout loss to OSU might spell SF's doom.

Just an opinion, feel free to agree or disagree.
