I can see us winning 6-7 games with this stout D:
-NW (not good at home)
-Mich (don’t think they are that good, at home)
-Minn (just lost to Bowling Green)
-Purdue (always a close game)
-Wisky (not that great this year)

Then we’re stuck with Frost. Is this a silly fear?

Your fear shouldn’t be Frost staying. Your fear should be him being happy with his assistants if that happens.

Our offense is only good for 1-2 touchdowns per game against those teams, so no matter how well our defense plays, it is nearly impossible for us to win. That assessment doesn’t even include our disastrous special teams play.

Yes. If we win that many, we will have figured somethings out and stopped beating ourselves. If that is accompanied by staff changes that is a good thing. I am sick and tired of losing and will not root for more losing.

They will be lucky to win 1 game the rest of the season.

Was at the game… completely inconceivable we lost. Spartan fans were heading for the parking lot with 6 minutes to go because Thayer saw no way they were going to score. And they are ****** fans

Frost is a loser. So you do not need to worry….he will find ways to lose. And I’d imagine the team, including the defense is close to turning on him. Then it will get really ugly

I fell like you’ve been saying the team is going to quit on him for 3+ years. I am confident the kids will keep competing and the defense will keep playing well. And the other crap that keeps us from winning will most likely continue as well. Groundhog Day all over again.

If they win 6 or 7 games, you could make the argument that Frost deserves another year. Throw out last year because of Covid—just trash can it. If you buy into that philosophy (and I’m not saying I do), then that would make this year 3. And like Bobby Bowden once said about successful program rebuilds; first you lose big, then you lose close, then you win close, and then you win big. 6 or 7 wins would mean—despite everything—the rebuild is still largely on schedule, with a couple key areas lagging behind the rest of the renovation.

Problem is, where are those 6 or 7 wins coming from with this o-line? With these special teams? With this coaching staff that seems utterly incapable of closing and winning 1-score ballgames? When the same mistakes happen over and over and over again?

Where do they get that program defining win that shows they’re beginning to turn the corner?

Maybe, maybe not. We have a lot of vets on defense who likely won’t quit. But I’m sure the entire team is sick of Frost throwing them under the bus.

The offense is not fixable….Frost is a terrible coach and his assistants across the board on that side are just as bad. That’s a heavy burden on the defense.

Yes. It took Frost all of one game to step in and work with the OL to bear immediate results. Staff changes are needed (OL and ST) but I truly think Scott sees the light now and will stop being loyal to people not doing their jobs.

I'm glad that post will not be right. It's a good thing, not a bad thing.

Look dude, you came on here, with this new handle, guns blazing with all the answers. Now, after a victory over a overmatched NW team all of a sudden you are turning a complete 180 and are jumping on the Frost and Nebraska bandwagon.

Based on your posting history, and handle changing, you thought you would come on here and try to look like a smart guy who was ahead of the curve and put out an all out assault and call for Frost to be fired after 3 lackluster years. Your plan looked good after week zero. You started to throw out all the potential coaches that would bring Nebraska back to a run the damn ball offense, (even though Frost offenses have always been about 57/43 run/ pass). Then the worst thing that could have happened for you, happened and the team was competitive against OU, and should have beat Michigan St, both on the road, then this game against NW and all of a sudden there appeared to be some momentum. Ruh Roh Raggy, better change my tune.

The problem is what if Michigan blows Nebraska out Saturday night? Are you going to stay on the bandwagon or are you going to jump off and start telling us about all the coaches you want hired next?

Fact is, like @John_J_Rambo I like that you post such craziness and ill informed posts. The statistics you post are almost always incorrect, there is something omitted, or you use some obscure stat to attempt to prove a point.

Keep on posting.

People who were not pissed off with how the season started when it was the same old bad football as the previous 3 years are what leads to programs failing. Like Trev Albert's said, it's good to have fans hold coaches and administration accountable.

The pressure Scott Frost felt was much needed and if that is what it took to get **** going in the right direction, it was 100% worth it.

Perfect. This should be the 100% foolproof formula for success. We'll, that and only zone blocking, no gap and shield blocks though. Such powerful messages to turn an entire team around. Rah rah

Or... perhaps a team that has been consistently showing improvement finally stop beating themselves, played an average team and dominated them like they should.

This team is only a couple of plays away from being a top 15 team right now. Hell, one punt away from being top 25.

We need to see the run/pass ratio last Saturday (52 of 73 plays run=71%) more often. Can you agree with that?

Depends. On the surface yes. If you are winning all of your games 35-7 at the half then you will have that sort of number under a historical Frost offense.

I have looked at the numbers for years and Frost’s most successful teams were below 58% run in the first 3 quarters of the game and greater than 65% in the 4th quarter. His teams relied on balance when the game was in doubt and as they took control of the game, they would salt it away with the run exclusively. Which makes sense.

The 70% run we saw Saturday was more indicative of that game plan than the game plan of Osborne offenses that sprinkled in a few passes here and there to reach 75% or more run.

Absolutely, if Frost stays, at least 2 of his assistants need to go until we have every unit on the team ready to start the season from the jump.
