I predict a very close defensive game. We must play a clean game to win. That means no stupid penalties, turnovers, and special teams gaffes. Night game in primetime and a chance for Nebraska to get its biggest win in 20 years. The crowd will be rocking. If we play a clean game I think we win. Mainly because of the nighttime home atmosphere. But any big mistakes and we will once again piss this down our legs. My gut tells me we lose another close one. But damn we have a good shot at this and for once I hope we make a statement.

Jealous!! I think the atmosphere is going to be electric. And if we win, what a game to be at! My sister was offered skybox tickets but turned them down. She has a friend with a skybox and she has been in his box several times. But she says that she much prefers to be in the stands for these kinds of games. Far more exciting. She tells me you feel a bit "removed" from the crowd when in the box. If it were me I would take the skybox tickets. My almost 63 year old bladder prefers the bathrooms close by. Ha.

O/U 52.5. That seems high to me, just like 51.5 seemed high last night. Does Vegas think both teams will score in the 20’s?

I thought the spread was too high for us last night like they were baiting people to take northwestern points. We just looked miles ahead athletically at every position. They looked really slow on defense. That’s how we should look against Northwestern every year with our athletes.

Bring on the Wolverines. That’s gonna be an awesome game. I don’t think it looks at all like the last time we played them.

but but but the coaching search!?

just 1 week ago you said we should be smart and make it official and fire Frost!

I cannot believe this message board is free
What about it? If things revert back to the same old it's firing squad time. Current evidence shows a good direction and there aren't any alarming signs that give me serious concern going into the Michigan game.

The defense has been very consistent four weeks in a row. No mental lapses week to week. Rushing is getting better and Frost is getting more and more out of the rushing attack. Personnel changes were made to improve results. If they didn't try new peronnel then that would have been a massive red flag.

Offense and defense efficiency both rank high nationally as a result of the last three weeks.

so after 3 straight weeks of consistent play, it was 'be smart, make the search official and fire Frost mid-season' - literally a quote from sept 25th

but after 4 straight weeks it's 'I'm predicting an outright win over a top 10 team'?

you can see why people think you're a moron, right?

You must be drunk again since you aren't thinking clearly. The progress made over the last three weeks shows a good trend. AKA new data to assess. The performance last night was the best game in Frost's head coaching career at Nebraska and there isn't a close second. that Maryland game wasn't as dominating as last night was. Clean game. The defense hasn't been making mistakes, sound football, passionate, football four weeks in a row.

you say the last 4 weeks the defense has been playing sound football

you say the last 3 weeks we've shown a good trend

you posted 8 days ago that we should fire Frost mid-season

which is it? seems to me all the new data you needed was a win against northwestern if all the evidence prior led to you posting that he should be fired mid-season.

only new data you've gotten since you said we should be smart and fire Frost mid-season was last night's game against probably the worst team in the league.

if that's all it took, fine. it will just never not be funny how quickly you pulled this about face.

I also find it incredibly hilarious this 'new data' that's shifted your thinking includes 2 of the most moral of victories to maybe ever occur in Husker history

things you, of course, say are for losers. also, 'the win loss record tells the truth. nothing else.'

if we lose by 1 on Saturday, I'm sure it'll be right back to the coaching carousel!

Wrong. It's a new set of game data combined with previous games that shows the trends for what reality is. Reality is, this is a drastically improved team since the IL game. Light years different. What still took place were the stupid **** and bad special teams until last night.

On defense, it has been consistent since Buffalo. Efficiency on offense has gotten much better the last three games. That is now 4 games in a row, no major weakness, good football on D.

When you look at everything as a whole, the improvements are now there.

We can absolutely beat Michigan and I kinda think we will.
Yep. I had two major fears going into that game last night and I'm thrilled neither happended. Number 1, did the tough losses at Oklahoma and MSU destroy the team mentally. It didn't. Number 2, could they do a combo of not allowing Northwestern do their usual one score game or would a far superior talented team whip their ***? They obliterated them last night.

Going into the Michigan game, this is the best I have felt about Nebraska football in the last several years. Major improvement has happened this season. I bet Trev has had a major influence in helping get this going in the right direction. The talent was always there.

so, based on the above, where do you officially stand on moral victories? seems after the last one, you were quoted as saying we should fire Frost mid-season. then, a scant 8 days later, you're feeling better about NU football than you have in years.

are they for losers and you're a loser having gleaned quite a bit of positive from them? are they, in fact, not for losers at all?

very contradictory, if you ask me. the team was obviously drastically improved the day you were quoted saying we should 'do the smart thing and fire Frost mid-season', just following the MSU game (moral victory).

Moral victories are for losers and are not good enough. That is win/loss basis. You still take the performance of units from a week to week analysis.

There are two major areas before this can really take off and get this program where it should be - every special teams area has to get better and OL. WR is now playing at a P5 level after years of ****** football.

More and more utilization and focus on a running game shows Frost is starting to learn. Whether that is influenced by Trev or not, I don't care, get the results needed to win.

so, to recap:

3 straight performances in which the team was obviously drastically improved and looked better than it had looked in Frost's entire tenure: "do the smart thing, make it official, fire Frost in-season"

1 more week, culminating in a huge W over a terrible, terrible team: "best I've felt in years about NU football, we will beat Michigan"

for all the time you spend bloviating here, you sure are fickle

I took this game about 10 weeks ago with Michigan getting 2.5. Now it is NU getting 3.

The good news for us is that AM will once again be the best player on the field.

Also, this michigan QB is a statue.

Michigan hasn't allowed much in the backfield up to this point. Statue or not we better be creative and mistake free.

He gets it, he stated the only real new data was a win.... he's right. The rest had already been trending. Because there wasn't a special team's gaffe against NW we don't fire the coach???? I'm confused
