Would Frost Ever Admit This?

The ownership doesn’t necessarily need to be so extreme, but I would prefer Frost really come out and emphasize the coaching staff needs to improve and a lot of errors are the fault of the coaches.
I know he’s made a few comments along the way, but they seem half-hearted to me with the excuse factory usually leading the way.

i dont know that you need to be that self-deprecating, but i appreciate an acknowledgement of lacking success.

At least this dude wasn't a $45 + million fraud.
I don't care about the money, and I really don't understand why people use it as some sort of argument.

it's pure schadenfreude, and now everyone knows you're poor.

Frost would be a fraud and a failure even if he was coaching not for money but out of the kindness of his heart.

I think that if things don't significantly improve this season, but Frost is still given another year, it will be contingent (via pressure from the AD) upon him making changes to his coaching staff.

So you're saying we may not need 2 quarterback coaches and an OC....

I'd prolly word that a little softer but I love the frankness. I do similar at my job when I screw uo. Own it, zero excuses, try to fix it. Goes over way better than the alternative.

I don't really care that Frost give us desperate fans some weekly mea culpa. Maybe he should just take the podium after a loss and punch himself in the nuts, would that be good enough? I think the above tweet is a perfect example of why no one in their right mind would say something similar - it looks weak, pathetic and like the dying words of a lame duck coach. I know you guys already have Frost's replacement hired, but I doubt Frost has reached the same conclusion yet. I'm not happy with him but I don't think it would help in any material way for him to stretch his neck out on the chopping block either.

perhaps, but something about the money he's been paid bothers you. a lot.

like I said, Frost would be considered a fraud and failure if he hadn't made a single cent at NU.
I bring up the $ because so many people feel sorry when someone gets fired. Frost is likeable person. I remind them he just got paid $45 million just from Nebraska, he's going to be ok. Don't worry about him.

Everyone knows that MONEY is the reason Frost probably won't be fired this year.

Any other coach getting paid half what he makes and doesn't come up with at least 7 wins in year 4 would be drawer n quartered at any other Power 5 school! And yes 25 million is the ONLY REASON!

I guess you can't even agree with someone on here without them losing it...geez

Man we are getting next level in our specific description of Frost’s short comings. “He needs to feel bad in this specific way that I deem correct”. “Cancel Frost!” I’m sure the guy was pretty confident in his abilities when he got here. And he’s been humbled and most likely shaken by the what has transpired so far. No one thought it would be worse than Riley. Everyone one of us agreed with the hire. Everyone of us was amped after AM’s Frosh year.

id like to see another year simply to hedge against another change over disaster with era-long ramifications . Have him relinquish play calling, turnover some staff, and see what he can do in the post-Adrian era

The coaching circle from youth to pro usualy dont have too many small egos amongst them. The large majority think their system works even if they dont win. Very few will be like this man. I wish they would have done a structured contract. Say you get 2.5 million per year then you get bonuses for winning games. A regular win is $50k, B1G win is $100k, top 25 win is $150k, top 10 win is $250k. Make a bowl game, $200k, win said bowl game $250k. Or somethin along those lines to where a successful season gets you a big payday but you tank and you make less. Especially with an unproven coach.
