couple things caught my eye:

(yawn) The football scheduling alliance will feature additional attractive matchups across the three conferences while continuing to honor historic rivalries and the best traditions of college football.

(LOL) The three conferences remain competitors in every sense but are committed to collaborating and providing thought leadership on various opportunities and challenges facing college athletics, including:
  • Student-athlete mental and physical health, safety, wellness and support
  • Strong academic experience and support
  • Diversity, equity and inclusion
  • Social justice
  • Gender equity
  • Future structure of the NCAA
  • Federal legislative efforts
  • Postseason championships and future formats
how lucky we are to have such heroes in charge of the future

If they're honest, they need to add a bullet point about student athletes maximizing their ability to make dolla bills y'all

Makes us all look like a bunch of dorks trying to stand up the big bad SEC bully.

Just digging in our heels to try to preserve the dying NCAA instead of getting out in front of this, while the SEC widens the gap. But hey, at least the B1G presidents got another chance to stroke their holier than thou egos.

ESPN radio hosts were making fun of it and used the example of big 10 backing out of football season after meeting without other conference standings last year. Coincidently ESPN has the most to lose if playoff expansion is delayed since they have exclusive rights.

florida/bama/auburn/ut/ou/georgia/tenn/a&m vs. 8 other teams from various conferences...
sounds fair and balanced

LOL, many times over.
At least they're talking about the situation I guess. I'm not sure why they needed to make it public but the agreement on games was maybe a positive. Personally I would freeze the SEC out of non-conference games with the B!G, ACC and Pac 12. Let them continue their incestuous inbreeding.

Freaking barf....and shutting out the most successful companies to do business with sounds like a terrible idea to me and they would love it because the SEC hates to travel anyway so we'd be playing right into their hands.

it has all the appearance of window dressing.
an alliance of 41 teams that looks weaker than sec.
the b1g has really only one hand left and that is if they could land nd.

Meh. The SEC thing is over played IMO. Let them do what they're going to do. Trying to govern that many teams isn't easy and now they have to deal with the Whorns. I could see the whole thing eventually blowing up in their face. One thing is clear, the age of enforcement of rules is over. It's going to be interesting to see what happens when the SEC schools go overboard pulling crap on each other.

ND is in the ACC for other sports than football and had last year as a trial run. If Dave Wansted's prediction of WV to ACC than there would be 15 football teams. Looks like a perfect landing spot for ND

when i drove home they were laughing on okc radio - paraphrasing - about the pac12, b1g, b12, & acc? balking on a ‘twelve teamer’ playoff and those conferences just dont understand the money aspect of that.

but as i left the neighborhood pool just a bit ago, they were crying over lsu maybe having tampered with an ou running back and thats gotta be an ncaa violation and im thinking not in the sec, numbnuts!
it was poetry to my ears.
so hey, great call!

People thought the former SWC was bad with the Pony Express from SMU and all the other violations, the new and “improved” $EC will make those the innocent days.

DEI?Gender Equity? Just the message fans need before the games start. Wondering how much gender equity there will be in the Husker-Illinois game on Sat. Good luck Huskers.

I think there's more but everyone is playing a waiting game. ESPN and texass and oklahoma desperately want the big 12 to blow up prematurely to avoid paying big $$. Everyone else wants to sit pat and force them to pay out first. No way texass and oklahoma wait until 2025 to move. They're on the clock if they want to be in the SEC in 2022.

E$PN and the $EC are in bed together and have pushed this round of activity. E$PN screwed themselves with the longhorn network and no one feels bad for them. Add in other general BS of the network and this is potentially a money drain on them for a while.

Personally don’t like either school or the network so whatever financial hit happens, good.

You are right Charlie. But ESPN paying an absurd sum for the Longhorn network. So a lot of cash there to work an early bailout. Asked the Horn fans if they would need any OU oil money to grease the skids. Naturally they said they could do it on their own. Will see.

I think Texas is still owed $160 million on the 20 year deal. They could just send that money to the Big 12 and buy themselves out of the league and be in the SEC next year. Heck they could just pay both buy outs and both schools could just leave next year.

My thoughts precisely, couldn’t have said it better myself. What does any of that have to do with anything? It’s become a contest of who can go out of their way the furthest to act like they care the most. What a bananas world we live in right now.

Greed and over inflated self influence won’t let the uTerus make such a decision.
