KU is the only logical choice..

This is about football, why would Nebraska or any Big Ten team want to give more of their share to a Big 12 football program that will not increase the $$$

Because it isn't about football and the ADs don't have much say in it. Both KU and ISU are AAU schools. This move wouldn't be about TV revenue for the B1G. It would be about research partnerships and research grants.

And that decision — questionable at the time, and looking worse with each passing year — is something many regard as a stain on Delany’s legacy. The media model on which that decision was based was already on shaky ground at the time, and it looks far more outmoded now. The Big Ten is not going to repeat the Maryland/Rutgers addition with different schools.

Maybe if that were the actual reason they took them. In actuality football was only a small part of the picture. Research dollars. The moves the B1G has made isn't all about sports. IF they take ISU and KU it will be because they're AAU schools.

Yup and that would leave Nebraska as the only non AAU school even tough they were at the time they entered the BIG.

as said by others, aau = grant money
but throw on top of that recruiting in houston and atlanta, AND the tv markets.
which would ADD to the big/pac/acc alliance of having 37 of the top 50 tv markets in the nation...
and bring more leverage when having the fox/espn tv contract bidding chit chat.
unless of course they just want the 11 markets...

of course the alliance needs to work on their chronic wokeness..but that's for another day

so if this is all true I can't help but wonder about TT, Baylor & TCU... The Texas Market is HUGE i can't imagine that they'd be left out looking in when teams like KSU find a home? that doesn't make sense...

I would think that Texas Tech makes more sense than Kansas State if the Pac12 was actually going to go this route.

Dang, Trev is on point with messaging. Well done.
He's an excellent reader. It's kind of amazing isn't it? You can have a guy like that as an AD and then look at the buffoons we've had as Presidents over the past couple of decades.

I know little about Trev's management style, but he looks like he'll set high standards and run a tight ship vs a boozy grabas style. What we need.

Why would the B10 want a top 10 team? That is a pretty dumb question since the league only has one currently and desperately needs more or it may lose the one it has.
I would love to have ISU and KU in the fold. Hell I would like to get Okie State as well. That probably isn't happening but I think ISU and KU would fit nicely in the B!G. Most people don't understand how good ISU's engineering school is.

LOL! Okay. ISU has been ranked in the the final AP three times. Three. One. ONE top ten finish. And congrats you start in the pre-season top ten. But it’s not about where you start, it’s about where you end.

One top ten ranking in 100 years does not make you a top ten program. ISU needs the Big Ten. The Big Ten does not need ISU. No wonder the Herkies call you little brother. Now. Back to the ISU board with you.

Forget for a second about whether or not the B1G needs ISU football and your own petty sports rivalry. ISU fits the B1G in a lot of ways. Their engineering and veterinary programs and research dollars work. Their membership in the AAU works. Sports is only a small part of the picture and they have had a good basketball program. I would LOVE to be able to go to ISU for football and basketball games again. Their fans are largely great to party with. Bring em on down. Yeah maybe it dilutes the football TV dollars a little bit but no doubt they would have to buy their way in like we did.

You can cite history all you want but that doesn’t change the fact that ISU is a top 10 team NOW with great facilities and a top coach that will keep the program at a high level. Neb was a top program at one time but hasn’t been one in a generation. Army was also a top team at one time about 4 generations ago.

ISU already collaborates with the CIC/BTAA and has for many years.

That is just stupid. Make a 100 year commitment to a school, based off of one preseason ranking? ISU doesn't bring any TV markets, no big national following.
