Just landed in Atlanta. How are there zero bars open??? The best part of airports is chatting it up in the bar!

Are you asking why no bars were open at 8 am Eastern?

I don't travel enough to notice. But are bars open that early in other major airports?

Yeah, I thought it was bad to get hit with a $30 bill for a hamburger, fries, and a coke at the Miami airport. At least overseas you don't get gouged quite like that. $30 for a beer is really abusing the alcoholic..
Not that it makes it any better but those 28 dollar beers are 23 or 24 oz beers. So technically it's only 14 dollar beers. 😥. Much better right? Lol

Yes. There are gems like Portland Oregon where bars are open at 5am
I am telling you, we used to go to some bar outside the back gate of Offutt at 7am after working an overnight shift or sortie. They always had hot dogs or chili dogs, and PBR on tap.

airport bars should be open any time there is even 1 passenger within 5 miles of the place

especially now that airlines are skimping on the in-flight booze

Atlanta is one of the worst right now. No restaurants open.
I live here and there are two reasons. The mayor just called for new restrictions, and with the unemployment issues all small businesses, at the airport or not, have severely reduced staff. I was at a Nike outlet yesterday and they were only letting 40 or so people in at a time because they didn't have the staff to manage any more. A friend had to go to 4 days a week at his restaurant because he can't find help at $12 - $15 per hour.

Atlanta banned smoking at the airport in January of 2020. Dulles outside DC and Vegas are the last two around.
