Supposedly has Nebraska, Northwestern, and Missouri as finalists, but hearing he may not be a take for the Tigers now. Recent commitments throughout the country seem to be forcing his hand.

He's only visited two schools apparently, Nebraska and Missouri. Missouri got Jalen Marshall and then Schwartz tweets that he has his decision. He now has the green light to commit to Nebraska and I would be surprised if he didn't commit to NU tomorrow.

From my understanding, northwestern is not an option. He didn’t visit for a reason, not sure what that reason was. By all accounts he is a smart kid so it probably isn’t a grade issue.

I agree that the timing of the Marshall commitment makes sense. Wiltfong put CBs in for both players pretty close to the same time.

Schwartz has a little more of a mean streak when he plays than does Marshall, so I like that aspect of his game.

If he chooses Nebraska, I would like it as much, probably more, than had Marshall picked Nebraska. Loved his dad as a player.

Interesting tidbit about his dad:
"In 2002, Schwartz and his wife appeared on an episode of Trading Spaces. Designer Hildi Santo Tomàs covered their wall with over 4,000 wine labels. The Schwartzes—who say they told producers that they don't allow alcohol in their home—were not impressed. They wound up taking one month and $5,000 of their own money to undo Santo Tomás's vision."

Will not be Mizzou. After Marshall committed there’s not a spot for him at Mizzou.

Gracial (Top 250) and Marshall are the takes for Mizzou at DT.

You plan to play a 6’6 guy at DT?

And Schwartz was never going to Mizzou, as long as he had the green light from Nebraska. Same with Valen Erickson.

He put in a CB for Schwartz to Nebraska 5 days ago.

Yes but Schwartz didn’t announce a date until after there were predictions for Marshall going everywhere but Nebraska. It could be Schwartz messed with Marshall’s plans instead of the other way around. We will never know. 5 days apart in a 18 month recruiting cycle is roughly the same time.

While Marshall has a bigger frame, I like Schwartz’s offer list, cut build, 247 ranking and pedigree.
We also need some semblance of good news these days, and he should be a solid pickup.

Check out the top DT’s on Rivals for 2022.

Nearly all are in the 6’4” to 6’6” height range.

Not unusual at all. Surely you can come up with something better than that.

I looked at the 2021 DT rankings and only one of the Top 40 was 6'6 and he was going to Florida to be a 3-4 DE. In the future, look at the guys that height Rivals lists at "DT" and notice that they are all going to 3-4 schools (Alabama, Wisconsin, ND, Stanford) to play DE.

Jacksonville (Fla.) The Bolles School defensive lineman Hayden Schwartz announced his commitment to Nebraska on Wednesday afternoon. He chose to play for the Huskers over Michigan, Missouri and 29 other scholarship opportunities.

The 6-foot-4, 244-pound Schwartz is pledge No. 8 for head coach Scott Frost and his staff in the 2022 recruiting class.

“Number one, very impressed with the entire staff starting with Coach Frost,” Schwartz’s father Bryan told 247Sports. The elder Schwartz was a second round draft choice out of Augustana College and went on to play five seasons for the Jacksonville Jaguars in the NFL.

“Very authentic,” he continued. “Developmentally I think that was the biggest thing for Hayden. He wants to develop on all fronts, obviously football wise yes, Coach (Zach) Duval the strength coach, the d-line coach, the defensive coordinator, the head coach, all those guys made it clear they’re on the right trajectory and Hayden wants to be part of the foundation as it continues to move forward. I think the trajectory looks really good to us on where they’re heading.”

The Schwartz family saw it first hand when they took an official to Lincoln the weekend of June 11.

“Academically it fits him,” his father said. “The value of the culture, everyone says they’re a family but that was something we really walked away with. It was a clear sense as a dad, as a mom (Schwartz’s mother was a college volleyball player and basketball player at Augustana as well) you want to send them to the best environment of what you already poured into him. That’s a big key. We felt that was a great environment to continue his growth as a man and as a player.

“The players we had time to spend with and Hayden spent time with, you could just get that feeling it’s the right fit. For us it’s always been about the right fit. Really the mentality to serve. It wasn’t something orchestrated. Every coach we met with from Rob Brown on the staff, he handles a lot of the spiritual dynamics, from him to the strength coach to the coaches, we’re here to serve you. I think that’s a big deal because that’s our family, we want to serve people and make other people great. It’s very apparent they’re really focused on taking the approach of serving leadership.”

Tabbed by 247Sports as the No. 47 defensive lineman in the class, Schwartz had 14 tackles for loss and four sacks in helping Bolles go 10-3 last fall. He loves his fit coming into Nebraska’s defense.

“They are the school that really saw Hayden where I think he’ll be most effective as an end, as a rush end,” the elder Schwartz said. “There have been protections put beef on him and move to the interior, he can do all that, but I think they saw him initially this is where he fits in our scheme and over the years they’ve had great ends. They see how twitchy he was, has good bend and long arms, that was a big fit as well seeing him that spot. Of course as he develops and grows anything can happen but initially I think it’s a good spot for him.”

Schwartz still has family not too far from Lincoln.

“We understand how awesome that fanbase is at Nebraska and Hayden will be in a really fun environment to play football. They have a great history, fans and all that and man that facility they’re going to have complete, their facilities are going to be the best and I think they hit the mark academically too.”"

Gotcha -- hey recruits, wouldn't you rather come to a place where we make snap judgments on, and post slander about, tens of thousands of people we do not know?
Would you like to send your child to a college where they will be screamed at, spat on, and attacked just for being conservative?

Schwartz isn't a DT, and didn't project to be a DT, even in a 4 man front. He's a 3-4 DE in Nebraska's scheme. Marshall also isn't a DT.

Considering Mizzou was 93rd Nationally last season in defensive efficiency according to ESPN FPI, and Nebraska was 33rd, It pretty clear Mizzou is going the wrong direction defensively.

I do like Coach Drinkwitz's offense though. He definitely should have the Tigers going 6-6, scoring 36 ppg and allowing 430 yards per game every season from now on.

Are you justifying liberals screaming at, spitting on, and physically attacking conservative students at Northwestern?
