They need to put an asterisk next to these no-hitters: "Hitters no longer have any ability to put a ball in play and are striking out at historic rates." I love baseball dearly but I almost have a seizure any time a run is scored in any way besides a homer. I know the arguments, but I think I've also come to really hate all the shifting. I get why guys are no longer interested in hitting a ball on the ground.

I think the doctored baseball is a much bigger factor.

Second time the Rangers have been no-hit this season (both of them coming at home against RH pitchers) and we're only 28% through the season. Good times, go Rangers!

My buddies and I have been discussing this. This is the first time since 1990 that there have been four no hitters in one month, so it has happened before. Three teams have been no hit twice this year by no names. Kluber is the highest profiled name. Why aren’t Cole, DeGrom, Bieber, etc. throwing no hitters?

Analytics are telling teams that making contact to get on base is overrated. Either walk, HBP, K or HR. Making contact has almost been put on the back burner. I don’t like that kind of baseball. Give me a runner on first and second and a ball hit to the gap all day over K, K, HR.

Avg heater today is 94mph+

Approach by hitters combined with pitchers throwing harder than ever equals a lot less balls in play.

Will be very interested to see how moving the mound back a foot impacts the class-a league doing it in the second half.
