I would think they would want a younger candidate so they dont have to do this again in 3-4 years.

Neb may be taking a page out of the Barry Alvarez playbook by planting a turd in the punch bowl of the opposition

Not likely. Just think about everything that went down in the last year regarding covid limitations, how Moos created problems with the BIG10s initial decisions on the season, and how the Pac12 would have preferred to not play at all.

the first item on the agenda for Moos will be to replace the Big Ten with the Mountain West Conference as the PAC-12s Rose Bowl opponent

Colorado AD Rick George is also said to be a candidate for the job, and I think he's more likely to be selected than Moos. Not that George is a great AD, but from a personality and image standpoint I think he would be more appealing to the bow ties and propeller heads who typically make these hires.

Oliver Luck, former West Virginia AD and Andrew Luck's dad, is also on the list.

The only serious candidate for the new Pac-12 commissioner will need to be a mixed race African-American and Hispanic female with an Asian-American same-sex partner, who have a 3-year old transgendered child and are practicing Muslims. Being in Antifa would provide some bonus points for hiring. Anything less will be disappointing.

You sound disillusioned. Were you a candidate in a “stolen” election, too?

Well, I'd rather he was up for B1G commissioner to replace that idiot we currently have.
this 1000X. I know some people want to bash him for looking at opting out of the OU game, but he has at every step done what a good AD should do for his program. People used emotion instead of common business sense in spouting off about them researching that potential move. From a revenue and practical standpoint, I believe it would have most definitely been in the best interest of the program to opt out of the OU game and schedule another home game in September. Our schedule the way it is is a KILLER for recruiting before the early signing period as well. Perhaps that's what Badger Barry had in mind when he recommended our schedule to the commissioner. .......

Jeeze, the way you describe it it's almost like it wasn't the biggest puss move and worst PR gaffe I've heard of in college football in years. Except, that's exactly what it was.

Soooo, did the PAC just float these names? Have they asked our administration IF they could talk to moos? Or did moos inquire? IMO bush league if they're just throwing names out there as candidates.

Actually can't see cowboy moos fitting in with the extreme woke culture

A good CEO is going to look at ALL options especially in extreme times.....and losing almost a year of revenue that funds almost the whole department PLUS a building project would qualify.

I'll take him at his word that the discussion was short and rejected internally.

Yes they may have contacted OU to see if there was any mutual interest of not playing..... probably how it got leaked

What the biggest gaffe was was the Husker fans who got their panties in a wad over the idea that opting out of the OU game was even looked at. Make no mistake, the only reason OU wants to play that game is to pad their playoff resume against a B1G opponent AND the money from their full stadium. They don't give a sh## about any rivalry with NU. Texas has always been their #1 rival.

The absolute best business decision for the program AND the most logical thing to do would have been to excercise the buy out option of the contract and schedule Podunk U at home. It would have provided in excess of 5 million MORE net dollars to the athletic department. It would have given us a home game in September for recruiting purposes. It would have also added potentially another win towards a decent bowl game. Playing OU, unless by some act of GOD we beat OU, makes no logical sense. The reaction to the leak was an emotional knee jerk nostalgic reaction not based on logic or fiscal responsibility.

All true!

There is literally no reason for P5 schools to play anyone "better" then they anymore. If you win your division and your conference tourney, you are in, period.

If I was an AD my schedule for NU would look like this

Lame *** Sun Belt Team
Lame *** MAC Team
Then a lame *** P5 team like Vandy
