Or maybe higher incomes and more money circulating in rural communities will actually help support those rural stores and restaurants better than they currently are.
So what is an acceptable profit percentage? How much of your doctor bill is to pay the doctors income tax bill? How much of your private insurance is used to subsidize the US government since the US government does not pay the true cost of the medical procedures?
If that's how it worked then why mess around with $15/hr? Let's make minimum wage $1,000 per hour. Then we'd really see those rural communities flourish.

I don’t know what y’all are seeing in Nebraska, but I know where I’m at you can’t pay people enough to go get a job... I’m seeing plenty of openings all around and plenty of businesses offering signing bonuses as well, the issue that I see right now is that most people are sitting back collecting the unemployment checks and not wanting to work... there are plenty of jobs out there for the taking and plenty of good ones at that, like 6 figures good ones, but the hand out culture would rather sit and do nothing while collecting unemployment

Our fingerprints are all over the entire world. There’s no escaping. Rats of all colors and creeds love consumerism, and it knows no border.
Everybody wants more. Wants a leg up on the next guy. Most, like you, shroud their wants in a noble quest. In the end, it’s all the same human urge to prosper, regardless of unit of measurement (money, happiness, etc).
Consumerism is the problem. We value the dumbest things.
We were the leaders in innovation because of the rest of the world was bombed after WW2 and we stole all the smart people.
Asia leads the nation in innovation now.
Patent laws in the US stifle innovation and can be downright dangerous when it comes to medical essentials.
Consumerism exists in every corner of the world.
Will be interested to see your report on Asian vs American innovation ubiquity in your new land.
so, innovation is the only thing that may make America stand apart.

Well, since literally everything else is easily duplicated, it’s pretty unique.
