NCAA wrestling starts today. Don't think anyone stands a chance to unseat I_wa this year, as they have been dominant all year long. Not sure how the Huskers will do. While they have most weight classes filled, several are at lower seeds. If they can avoid a lot of upsets in the early rounds, they should be Top 5. If they get a few upsets of their own, might even have a chance at runner-up.

@Tuco Salamanca found another one ^^
Amazing.
What did you do today?

I went to the Michigan St message board and talked ****, put a frozen pizza in the oven for breakfast, gave my bag of dirty laundry to my mom, put my high school letter jacket on because I was cold, went to the Michigan board talked more ****, took a nap, woke up, took another nap, all before 8:30 am.

They will finish 3rd or 4th... right behind Iowa and Penn State

Why as Penn State fallen off? Never thought Iowa would overtake them after their dominant run. OH/PA/NJ is a much richer recruiting ground than I.O.W.A.

Lovett wins 6-4 (SV 1) at 149.
Licking loses by major decision 10-2 to #1 ranked wrestler at 157.

My thought is that Cronin, Lovett, and Robb will be the keys to how well Nebraska does as a team - as long as the other ranked wrestlers perform as expected. So far, we got Cronin and Lovett advancing. Robb should be wrestling soon. We then have the gauntlet at the upper weights of Labriola, Venz, and Schulz right after that. They all need to at least make the semis for us to place high in the team rankings.

Lovett did not look good. He will get bounced with another match like that.

Kudos to ESPN for showing all 8 mats.

Venz wins by technical fall 19-0 at 184.
Shocker of the tournament is that #2 seeded Schultz loses by fall at 197. That is a very disappointing upset loss, especially since we had advanced all 7 wrestlers prior to Schultz. (Christian Lance still has first round match at 285 coming up).

What does Shultz have to win about 7 matches in a row to get 3rd and 6 to be an All American?

Iowa is likely to advance two PA wrestlers (Kemmerer and Lee) and one from OH (Marinelli), all top seeds, to the finals. Two other higher seeds (DeSanto and Young) are also from PA. They recruit wherever the best prospects live. Iowa HS wrestling has been a bit down but is making somewhat of a comeback.

Disgraceful officiating on this Campbell Oklahoma St match. 7 seconds left, they stop for a review, Campbell up by 1. Then they start again, no points are scored but the clock doesn't start. They then keep the entire 7 seconds on the clock even though at least 5 or 6 seconds should have run off before they realized the clock problem. And okie st scores a takedown as time expires to win.

clusterf*ck.

Head ref claims they can't run off the 5-6 seconds of wrestling because the video wouldn't show the clock running. WTF? Stop watches were invented more than a century ago.

Huskers sit in 9th place after Day 1. Highlights, while few, include Labriola and Venz winning their first 2 matches. Schultz and Lance came back and won their Consolation 1 matches. Going to need great effort in Consolation 2 matches, and subsequent rounds, to make a push for the team race.
