The flop warning is a terrible rule. You just let the guy flop and play on. Use common sense. Stopping a game to review a flop is a waste of time.It doesn't effect the Huskers as Nebraska has been bad at basketball for years.
But... I actually think the Big Ten basketball officiating has cost the Big Ten some national titles over the years.
How?
There have been some dominant teams from the Big Ten that have lost games because their "dudes" have been unable to pick up cheap fouls when driving in the lane.
There have been some dominant teams from the Big Ten that lost games because their Bigs have been unable to physically molest smaller players in the paint.
A lot of these elite teams have been unable to advance in the Dance because random college basketball officials don't give a **** about the school on your jersey.
The flop Warning was invented because of Wisconsin and Ohio State.
I agree and think we will see something similar this year when refs from other conferences are forced to deal with big guys like Cockburn and Dickerson. It doesn't effect the Huskers as Nebraska has been bad at basketball for years.

it legitimately takes several games to get used to making calls on/for physical, skilled big guys like that on the glass, on D and with the ball.
those guys pick up 3 cheapies in the first half of any game in the NCAAs & their teams are severely handcuffed.
great post.
Add the Nebraska women against Maryland they got shafted in the fourth quarter with a charge being reversed into a blocking foul in favor of Maryland
Maryland had been considered a bubble team that needed the win to get into the danceNot buying the officiating bias. Tom Izzo, who is the B10’s Mike Krzyzewski, spent their entire game screaming at the officiating, got a technical in the first half, and spent his entire halftime interview blasting the officiating. The B10 had zero reason to favor Maryland in that game
Yeah the BIG had every reason to want Maryland to win that game. But that said, Izzo screams at the officials for every minute of every game, even when MSU is getting most of the calls. He's probably the biggest crybaby in the conference, though Archie Miller and Mark Turgeon give him a run for his money.Maryland had been considered a bubble team that needed the win to get into the dance
He learned it from one of the best! Just Heathcoate was one angry sideline coach!Yeah the BIG had every reason to want Maryland to win that game. Considering that one of our guys got called for an offensive foul in our last game on an obvious flop and they didn't look at the play on replay, I have to agree. I will say though that it does provide some disincentive to flop. I'm not sure how that clown from Wisconsin stays in games with the new rule but I did notice that he was doing less of it this year. Davison got away with using his own arm against our guys to push himself down at least twice during our last game with them. IMO, IF an offensive foul gets called and there's any concern that it was a flop, the guy doing the flopping should immediately get a foul instead of a warning. Remove ALL incentive to flop immediately. The flop warning is a terrible rule. You just let the guy flop and play on. Use common sense. Stopping a game to review a flop is a waste of time.
