I thought Minnesota seemed in control most of the night. But the Huskers had a window in which they could have closed out set #3 before the Gophers' best server got the ball. When they didn't, I figured NU was probably done.

Nebraska looks really athletic and talented this year. May lose a few early here (Minn, Wisc) but once things start to gel they're gonna be a pretty tough out.

Minnesota’s big hitter looks somewhat mortal today. Still really good, but not automatic like on Friday

It looks like they got mad at how bad they played Friday. Looking like a national championship team right now.

2nd set was 25-15

Holy crap. They just said there have been zero ties or lead changes. Neb has led the entire time

And as I type this. 1-1 in the 3rd

Straight set winner. I didn't watch Friday, but minny didn't look great to me. Surprised we lost to them.

Had control of 2 of the 3 sets we lost. After watching both matches, I do think Nebraska is better.

My understanding of Volleyball is so limited, I'd like to know what Cook did to shut down Samedy. Whatever it was it worked.

Their offense runs through Samedy. Haines was setting very well today and Lexi was placing her hits all over the place. The huskers were very unpredictable on offense and kept the gophers off balance all day. The radio announcer, I don't know his name, said that having all of these back-to-back matches allowed Cook to digest the first game and then know how to attack the opponent in the second game much better. Huskers are definitely a better program than Minnesota right now.

The new girl from Hawaii is quite a player. She can serve. Riley Kuhn has now displaced Jazz because she is a better blocker.

There will be a lot of eyes on the match next week with the cheese. Can't wait!

Anni Evans from Waverly served the final two points and set the final two kills with Hames on the bench after getting a Samedy missile off the right side of her face. Hames stayed in to set the point that put NU up 23-22, but then Cook subbed in both Sweet and Evans for the final two points. Great team win.

Minnesota had to be feeling pretty good after Friday night, but heading home today knowing they got dealt a whuppin'.

There's more to it than this but a lot of it had to do with the play of zuhn. Actually zuhn and caffey but I say zuhn because her game was better today. Our serve/receive was much better allowing for better serves leading to better hitting.

But IMO, it was our blocking that was better putting pressure on their hitters/samedy.

Their service errors were huge and their libero wasn't at the service line forever today.

Didn't look at the stats but wouldn't be surprised if samedy was .650 or higher yesterday and under.200 today. That's Yuge because she's just that good.

Interesting, the girl from Hawaii, #6, was called earlier in this thread as a terrible player in yesterday's match. 90% of the team had a tough day yesterday especially Lexi. They sure did show up today!

Akana. She's a true frosh. Seems like she's getting similar minutes to Knuckels and both have taken minutes from Densberger. We're set up pretty well at that position for the future.

That was an inaccurate post IMO. There definitely were communication errors in the back row. "#6" is a gamer and will be good. I like the way this team responded today. Sounds like they got some "honesty" from the coaches yesterday in practice and responded well.

NU/Minn will be good battles for years to come

They will be just fine. Cook is the man and knows how to win. He has been tinkering a lot this year and at some point all of that is going to make this team a title contender.

Had control of 2 of the 3 sets we lost. After watching both matches, I do think Nebraska is better.

Control? The only set they lost and had control over Friday was the third when they had a lead late and squandered it. They were down big at the beginning of every set, except the 4th, and had to fight back to get it to competitive. I guess in the 4th set you could say they had control at 9-6 but Minnesota went up 13-9 and was in control then until Nebraska took a 1 point lead at 22-21, but after that Minnesota took over.

Blocking was the biggest difference in the 2 matches was blocking and Samedy hitting pct.

Match one Minnesota scored 20 pts off the block, in match 2 five pts off the block
Match one Samedy hit .379 and in match two she hit .135
