OT - CDC to investigate

Happened to one of my wife's extended family members as well. He was 90 years old, so hard to tell if it was the vaccine, something else, or something else complicated by vaccine side effects. In his case, he started to go downhill very shortly after getting the vaccine.
In any event, I'm not of the "OMG its gonna kill us all" mindset, just an interesting personal connection. I've said all along its a cost benefit analysis the individual has to make. I've already had COVID, I'm only 31, and I'm in good health, so its not a priority for me. If I was 90 and in poor health, the cost/benefit would change and probably still be worth it even with reports like this.

If you're in your late 40s and living in a long term care facility, I'm guessing your co-morbidities are already problematic.
Good heavens. Somebody with no actual scientific evidence to support that claim lists it on a death certificate as a potential cause of death and it becomes a national crisis. IF you're in a long term care facility in your 40s its a very good bet that your days are numbered in less than 3 digits. It's ironic that the same people who vehemently claimed that people weren't dying from COVID now are so willing to assign death to a small amount of protein from that virus in a vaccine.
Here is the thing that chaps my balls. In the news release the vaccine is listed as one of "several" causes of the death. I have never seen that listed that way in a COVID death. I have seen COVID listed as cause of death to someone who died after heart surgery simply because they had a positive test in their final 30 days.

There were many people who were listed as COVID deaths from my experience who just plain died with COVID and not from it. That percentage is very low but it happened. On the other hand I've known elderly people who lived for over a decade and really lived pretty well in a nursing home. Most of them were elderly women who had some physical problem that prevented them from staying in their home. To say they were circling the drain would be inaccurate.
One old neighbor of mine back home had to have a leg amputated because of a blood clot and couldn't care for herself in a wheelchair. I had no idea that she was even alive yet and ran in to her while visiting my dad. She was happy. Played cards everyday with friends. Got 3 good meals and she had known most of her care givers since she they were babies. She lived I think nearly 15 years in that nursing home with a view of a park and schoolyard and went on regular excursions in the nursing home bus.
It is possible to die from covid after having heart surgery. And having a positive test would indicate they had covid.
the test doesn't necessarily indicate a cause of death. but it doesn't exclude Covid from being either THE or A precipitating factor in the death.
not sure why any of this would chap your balls. have you been obsessing over how different doctors assign causes of death for years?
Here was the situation. Man in his mid 60's isn't feeling well, goes to the Dr. and finds out he has a leaky heart valve. Dr. says we need to do surgery right away, they perform a COVID test before surgery, result is positive. No COVID symptoms, but surgery is delayed approx. 2 1/2 weeks.
Surgery is completed with what was thought a good result. Vent is removed within a day, man takes a turn for the worse a second surgery is performed to repair two holes in his heart. They can only find and repair 1, man bleeds out and passes away.
Cause of death listed on death cert is COVID due to a positive test result within the last 28 days.
did you see the death certificate? or is this just a story passed on from someone else? unless you saw the death certificate itself then its just a story like bigfoot or aliens.
that would be interesting if actually true. but if the whole point of all this is for you to somehow confirm to yourself that 500,000 people have not really died of covid then i think you are wasting your time.
IF a situation like this ever did happen it would be offset by all the covid deaths that were never attributed to Covid. The CDC estimates that covid deaths have been vastly undercounted.
dont the attending physicians assign cause of death? i know a lot of cardiologists. i have a hard time believing any of them wouldn't assign death to the heart defects if that was in fact the cause of death. and they dont put up with **** from the administrators either.
I tell you a story that I know it true, yet you don't want to believe it. I get it, you don't me from Adam, but that doesn't change the facts of the situation.
For purposes of statistics being thrown about, im guessing you're wrong. If the "C" word is anywhere near a death, you don't think they are contributing it to the death (putting it down as a covid death)?
And today they come out and say what Trump said 8 months ago.
