Is there a QB in the portal or in college football that is willing to sit on the bench for half of their remaining eligibility? Probably already have that option at their current school.Thinking they are done. Holding onto 2’ ships for late spring, early summer options from portal or JC. FWIW, Sam M from OWH thinks a QB portal option that becomes available this summer is likely if they find someone who will be a good fit. Narrows it down to someone with at least 2 years eligibility and is fine being a backup in year 1.
GBR!
A guy who was a freshman this past year could redshirt and be a redshirt freshmen in 2022, The odds of that happening are slim I understand but who knows. There might be a grad transfer who actually IS interested in the financial advantage of being a grad transfer QB at NU while completing a Masters. A guy from a DII or FCS level would seem most likely. Is there a QB in the portal or in college football that is willing to sit on the bench for half of their remaining eligibility? I believe we are signing 2 five stars tomorrow. Maybe a four star as well

Actually if you do some research you’ll see many classes were Top 10.Nebraska under Osborne hardly ever signed highly ranked classes. They signed people who fit their system and then developed them.

Hmmm...tell about this “develop” word you speak of???Nebraska under Osborne hardly ever signed highly ranked classes. They signed people who fit their system and then developed them.
So it was just a coincidence that a bunch of those players were All American and had NFL careers?Nebraska under Osborne hardly ever signed highly ranked classes. They signed people who fit their system and then developed them.
This. No matter what. He is a an overrated flake. Nebraska gets their allotment of those from Florida. He’ll be in the portal in a year imo.
No surprises tomorrowAnyone expecting big news tomorrow? Who are we even still in on besides AD?

no like I said he was very effective at coaching them up. Players redshirted and received tons of reps because of the size of the roster. Many 3rd and 4th string players received similar attention as 1st and 2nd team players by the coaches during practice. It was also common for lower unit players to receive game experience. So it was just a coincidence that a bunch of those players were All American and had NFL careers?
Still they did not get highlyThis notion is a bit overrated. It was a lot easier to find those diamond in the roughs. We recruited a lot of guys that would have been ranked higher if there were more recruiting resources available back then. Recruiting services are 100 times better today than back then.
This from an interview between Steve Sipple and Osborne. Lincoln Journal Star Nov 1, 2012Actually if you do some research you’ll see many classes were Top 10.
Bingo. The notion that those 90s teams weren't made with elite recruiting is a bunch of BS. Yes there were a lot of contributors who were unheralded guys in HS and then developed. There were also a lot of guys who were flat out players in HS and continued to be flat out players at NU, then went to the NFL.Here's what info I could find

See my post about Osborne’s own assessment of his recruiting. 1990’s classes 15-30.This is a myth that has been debunked on here many times. Nebraska frequently had Top 10 classes under TO and even had a #1 class (85?).

Was it also a coincidence that many of those players were from Nebraska, a state that doesn't produce more than a couple 4 stars a year?So it was just a coincidence that a bunch of those players were All American and had NFL careers?
