The transfer portal isn’t what they think it will be.Weird. Makes me wonder what happens with a lot of these kids.
Should we be shocked that he ended up at Toledo? 90% of his original offer list shows MAC level teams. He might have just looked around the DB room and concluded he was in way over his head. Good on him finding a fit early on, now make it work.I guess he didn’t want to play in the big 10 or at a P 5 school
Now days everybody gotta talk like they got somethin to say but nothing comes out when they move their lips, just a bunch of jibberish and mf'ers act like they forgot about Gray.He forgot about Gray at FIU.
Well doneNow days everybody gotta talk like they got somethin to say but nothing comes out when they move their lips, just a bunch of jibberish and mf'ers act like they forgot about Gray.
There's a lot more 'sisters' in Toledo than Lincoln. I'm not sure why you would think that Lincoln women are better than Toledo women. There's some culture shock that happens and social opportunities during COVID have been non-existent.No way the women are better in toledo than lincoln
So what do you say to somebody you sign? Or anyone who wanna come to campus and whine? Now days everybody gotta talk like they got somethin to say but nothing comes out when they move their lips, just a bunch of jibberish and mf'ers act like they forgot about Gray.
My take is that he and his So. Fla buddies thought coming up to NU would be easier for them. They would play right away no problem cause they are from south Florida and by default they would be much better than anything that is up here. They were too good for the bench even in year one.Should we be shocked that he ended up at Toledo? 90% of his original offer list shows MAC level teams. GBR!
Maybe they come in with that kind of thought process... But you're telling me they're here for several months and we can't identify that thought process and try to correct it? This is nothing new. Kids have always come in thinking they're better than they are and wanting immediate PT when they're nowhere ready. It's a coach's job to correct that kind of behavior, but also keep them happy enough so that they stick around long enough for when they're ready to play. It's not easy, but this is why coaches make the big bucks. My take is that he and his So. Fla buddies thought coming up to NU would be easier for them. Now, there was a report that a different Fla kid, Gray, was in way over his head and when he quit immediately, he said it was family concerns but in reality, Gray was homesick and realized he may never play here.
That used to get fixed in 2 a days and fall camp. After they got the snot knocked out of them a few times by a couple of upperclassmen they understood their spot. Some guys don't deal with that well. With the lenient transfer rules its WAY too easy to quit.Maybe they come in with that kind of thought process... Sh## happens to RBs. It's why you really need 5 capable scholarship RBs plus a walk or two who can play. I could be wrong, but I think the length of the fall and then a lack of a bye week late both contributed to having so many guys out at the end. Thank goodness Mills came back strong late in the year.
Well when you’re not winning as a team the obstacles become greater trying to convince kids to stick around and see the light at the end of the tunnel. Also, kids take a look around at the offensive Line and see freshman starting and Quarterback and see freshman starting and think “why can’t I?”Maybe they come in with that kind of thought process... Well said. I agree 100%. Two problems with that in this case though. #1- The pandemic. The Florida kids (most if not all) went home to "quarantine" and weren't entirely a part of the process. Tough for coaches to work with that. #2- This is unrelated to your post, but throwing the star ratings out the window, these kids aren't that good to begin with-- either limited ability with a big head or very good ability with character issues-- it's not worth the effort. As Frost said, they have to reexamine the type of kid they are bringing in.Maybe they come in with that kind of thought process...
