Anyone know what’s going on with NW. A bunch of players entering the portal the last couple days. They run a good program, so it might not be a big deal. Just a little surprising. Here is a very good player, a starter, that has had success.

They had a bunch of decommits too. What’s the deal there?
Have you guys been happy with Wandale ? Was he what you were expecting ? Just curious cause he’s from my hometown and I watched that kid grow up .

If Fitz isn’t leaving, you’d assume he’d be more vocal to down play the rumors. He’s not doing any of that. The whole smoke/fire thing is in play, IMO.

Best player on the team, and it's not close.

He’s awesome. Love the kid. Probably the consensus fan favorite. Plays his balls off every game.

A NW exodus right now says to me big smoke on the Fitz to the Bears rumors. I can't stand that hire for either party. I love Fitz being the NW coach and college coaches pretty much never have success jumping to the NFL.

I also think the Bears window is closing rapidly given the state of their OL and Mack's contract plus a few veterans on defense. I don't see them as poised for a run.

Sounds like this week and next might require the coaching staff spend a lot of time keeping up with the portal and making offers to those who will help Nebraska win in 2021. Probably better than spending time preparing a game plan for a bowl game. It's getting crazy busy out there.

best and most exciting player on the team....downside is he's tiny playing against big/and also fast guys. Wish he was full time in slot, and not expected to run b/w tackles. Because he's asked to do that, he's still the best and most exciting player, but not real effective. Get the man in space, all day and everyday.

The epitome of what we value in our Husker players and young men that grow up in Lincoln.

Hope he stays all 4 years and we provide him a QB that will help him to be a Husker legendary player.

One interesting angle on the Fitz to the Bears thing is that no one can really fault him for trying an NFL job. And... if after 3-4 seasons its not working out there's a pretty good chance he could land in whatever top college job is open at the time. He's going to be viewed as a solid college coach pretty much no matter what happens in the NFL, and it would be difficult for him to ever jump straight from NW to a better college job.

More than likely he could just go back to NW to be the HC again and/or be the AD there someday.

Maybe some of the players aren't nerds (hard school) or maybe they realized how terrible purple is for a school color.

If NEB doesn't have players enter the portal they will be the only one. and i think that actually says something about how much the players like Frost. the roster is so young it would make sense some of them have already figured out that there are a lot of young players at most positions and look for better opportunity somewhere else. i think after next year is when NeB could get hit with transfers as some of these young ins figure out the guy ahead of them still has 3-4 years left to play

And most importantly, he doesn't have to move his family and he's a Bears fan.

Excellent observation, however, a lot of new recruits left.

I’d put the under/over at 8 kids hitting the portal in the next 2 weeks. WR room, RB room, OL room, DL and LB room all could see some movement, maybe even a QB.

Overrated. His best position is at RB, and he's tiny and goes down easily. He's an average at best slot receiver.

He’s a stud. If he was 6-1 215 he’d be an NFL lock. Being undersized they have to scheme him into successful situations.

Regarding the the transfer portal are our schemes too complicated if you only get a year for transfers to learn them and expect plug and play in today’s CFB?

I don’t think they are too complicated. Wandale learned both RB and WR his freshman year.

Then the guy below him better start working his tail off for that spot on the roster....
We need competition to breed success.

I don't think they're that complicated. It's more about accountability in getting the players to learn the playbook during their downtime.
