He should. He'll become a much bigger name and make a bundle of money. If it doesn't work out, he goes back to college and makes a bunch more money
On Thursday the Cyclones swept the major categories as Big 12 Coaches announced their all-conference teams. Running back Breece Hall was named Offensive Player of the Year, Mike Rose was named Defensive Player of the Year and Matt Campbell was named Coach of the Year.
Twenty-two Cyclones were chosen for All-Big 12 teams, including nine on the first team.
Matt Campbell COULD be their version of Bill Snyder, if he stayed.

That number probably is halved a year from now. More proof that coaching (player development) can Trump a team in a talent-rich state. Of course if you put the 2 together then you got yourself an Alabama or Ohio State.
How can a player on the Bednarik Award watch list fail to make the All-Big 12 first team... and the second team?
Somehow, that's the reality for Nik Bonitto.
Of Isaiah Thomas, Alex Grinch said, "If he's not the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year, I'm not sure who should be in place of him." Nevertheless, Thomas didn't crack the All-Big 12 first team either.
Oh, and Spencer Rattler, a candidate for the Davey O'Brien Award, also couldn't earn anything more than an honorable mention.
If the Oklahoma Sooners needed any additional motivation for Saturday's grudge match against Iowa State, they certainly have it now.
Ronnie Perkins took to Twitter shortly after the all-conference teams were announced to indirectly raise his complaint with the slew of Sooner snubs.
Meanwhile, Rattler didn't say a word, opting for emojis to express his feelings after Iowa State's Brock Purdy earned all-conference honors at quarterback.
The Sooners' defensive line, arguably the nation's best as of late, had three representatives on the second team in Thomas, Perkins and Perrion Winfrey. Curiously missing, however, was Bonitto. The redshirt sophomore leads the team in sacks and has been, by many metrics, one of the most impactful defensive players in the nation.

One should note that this was the coaches' all conference team. Athlon has 3 ISU players on their ALL Big12 first team. Purdy, a TE and a CB. That's it. There's 17 on the 3 deep. IF some people might recall, coaches' All conference teams are often very political and I suspect there's a large anti-OU voting block. I'm not dismissing what Campbell has done. That said, is ISU's success a sign of their greatness or is the Big 12 really weak this year? We have to remember ISU lost badly to Louisiana to start the year. That game wasn't as close as the score.

Louisiana is currently the number 19th ranked team in America at 9 and 1, so that is not a bad loss. Louisiana is the number one state in America for putting players into the NFL, so no doubt ULL is a talented team.
You are stating that Breece Hall (RB leading the country in rushing and on most lists for Heisman consideration) did not make Athlon’s ALL Big 12 first team ?
Sorry. That's my mistake. The point about this being a vote of the coaches still stands though. There's a lot of anti-top dog bias that normally goes in to those polls of the coaches. We've seen it in the B1G as well.
I never said Louisiana was a bad team. I said ISU got embarrassed by them at home. Great teams don't let that happen. I watched a good chunk of that game and it was a beat down. I'm not sure when getting beat by a #19 Sun Belt team turned in to a good loss. It's still a bad loss for a conference leading Power 5 team. I still question the strength of the Big 12 this year. With little or no non-conference games this year it's tough to gauge.
I don't remember that. A family member (in law) is a big ISU fan and I don't recall that being an excuse.
ISU is pretty good but they aren't that good. I think OU handles them and shows they deserved more 1st team players than ISU. Campbell hasn't won anything in his time at ISU but people love to act like he has.
Jeez give it a rest and give ISU props! They DEVELOP talent and Nebraska hasn't developed any in the last 4 years.
I'm willing to bet it's no more than 2 players, if that, out of those 22 All Conference players we really wanted coming out of high school!
Campbell just like Gundy and even Tom Allen for Pete's sake does way more with far less than Frost....and for less pay.

Let's be real though. UL is a good team and sometimes teams don't start off the season well. Teams do lose at home to opponents that they regard lightly. We've had plenty of those ourselves. As the season has gone on, they have gotten stronger. I don't think anyone in the conference wants to play ISU. If OU throttles them, I'll reassess.
I don’t remember how many and which players were out but about a month before that game Ames and Iowa City were the largest Covid outbreaks per-capita in the nation and many positives on the teams led to reduced practices leading into the season. It’s largely why both in-state schools have been spared from covid positives during the season and why both had very sluggish starts.
And yet they lost their first game to Louisiana at home.
Which does mean crap now...Purdy sucked that day.. He’s been money lately...
