I'm shocked that there's no threads about NU's crushing of Doane.... Actually when listening to the game, I'm a little disappointed in how easy it sounded like it was for Doane to get off 3s and they got quite a few offensive rebounds.

Didnt watch but saw highlights. Lakes can shoot and Eduardo is a big step up from Yvan. Im really disappointed with Yvans lack of development. He's a bit more in shape than last year but he has no ball skills and doesnt even look at the rim if he's outside the paint with the ball.

Yvan only shoots about 50% from the line but if he they'll give him a set shot from 15 in, he should probably take it. I think that Fred hates those mid-range jump shots though. Most analytics say it's a terrible bet to shoot those versus layups and 3s. The way Yvan misses bunnies though maybe he would be better off shooting the 15 footers. It would help our team immensely when he's in the game if he could hit some shots from outside the paint making his man have to guard him.

So for those of us that predicted, after the GaTech game, that NU would be lucky to win 2 more games the rest of the season....do we have to count this one? I think it was scheduled kind of last minute.

This game gets us one closer to seeing Derrick Walker eligible, which will be Jan. 5. At that point, we'll probably see even less Yvan and Stevenson. Andre appears to have potential, and Lakes will be an important role player. Until the entire team is eligible and plays together for a month, they will struggle, especially in the next four, which are all against ranked teams, without Walker. If they can steal 2 of the next 10, they might have a shot to 4-6 or 5-5 in the last 10, provided they're all played, of course.

Next year is when we start to compete evenly with most of the Big Ten. This year is about improving from game to game and identifying five to six players who will be key parts of the rotation next year, when Bryce McGowens, Tominaga and Breidenbach arrive.

I like Stevenson. Great defender.

He was pretty careless with the ball last night. I hope he recovers because he can be a good rotation player this year and next.

I don't think the regular rotation players took last night's game seriously at all. That was men against boys.

Starters were 3-19 from deep, and that's been a trend, so that's a little disturbing. Bench was 9-14 from deep. Might be time to mix and match a little more.

Yep, the more guys we get eligible the better we will be. Of course Mayen also was on fire from Three when the season started and now he can't hit water.
