If there has been an improvement IMO is the size and power of our players. I think we are def heading in the right direction there to be a B10 team. We didn't get pushed around like we used to this season. Rogers and Robinson coming along nice. Daniels back again next season to clog the middle.

Having the third or fourth ranked class in the big ten West is not going to cut it.

I think this is true and one reason for optimism. It takes a little time to build&develop OL&DL guys. I think we are starting to see it.

Having the top ranked class in the West hasn't been cutting it, so why not go lower and see what happens.
Leave them for the next guy so he has an excuse to why he's not winning and needs a contract extension! Good plan coach.

It's not optimism, it' s a fact. The class is currently ranked 2nd in the division and 19th in the nation.
Pretty good, providing they all stick around for once. Being mostly 500 mile guys, hopefully that's finally the case.

Is there a center in the bunch that can make perfect snaps 98% of the time or which tight end was recruited to be a center?

Fidone is NOT going to be happy when Frost tells him to go practice hiking. WTF coach???😆

This does seem to be more of a Pelini type class. Not so much the overall talent, etc. Just more the fact that there are alot of kids that are from the radius. Alot of kids that were leaders, etc. And alot of kids that have been committed for a while, not any last second flips. This feels to me like a group that will stick around. Only time will tell.

I'm thinking we kept throwing deep balls to our TE for the sole purpose of enticing Fidone to make sure he signed. Now that he's signed, we can start throwing to receivers.

Could be way off base but I get the impression that Frost would like to start running a lot more 2 TE sets that he can run power or throw from. Fewer subs, more tempo.

The downside is, this would mean he's implicitly admitting that he does have to adjust to Big 10 defenses.

The roster composition would suggest that but so far the playcalling on the field isn't following that. We already have a bunch of TEs, more than enough to run 22 or 12 personnel. But they don't do much of it.

Rivals. Both 247 and ESPN have us much lower.
The bottom line is that all of these ranking services use employees to rank players who don't know as much as the coaches who evaluate the recruits. Unless you get a guy how is ranked highly by ALL of the services, there can be some wide variation on how they turn out. I still keep seeing guy after guy show up in the NFL who were either unranked or lowly ranked coming out of high school. TWO former Huskers who started on Monday night were walk ons at Nebraska....just sayin.

Fidone is going to be a weapon IMO that Frost hasn't had at NU. Big AND very fast. The TEs we have now are plodders compared to Fidone. He's going to be a matchup nightmare for opponents and hopefully somebody defenses will have to game plan around. Somebody can correct me but I think one of the other TEs who signed today is actually as fast as Fidone.

I think there's a couple of difference makers in this class we've been lacking. We'll see. I really like the young players already on the roster and this class addresses some spots by upgrading some talent at spots where guys are leaving.

When I watch the young guys who have been playing, I see a lot of talent that unfortunately at times isn't consistent because of either experience or physical development. Those things will come.

Buddy, I have no idea why we have started a guy at C, that can't snap the ball consistently, for two straight years.

When our shotgun-based, running offense is thrown to **** off of just a high snap.

It's like trying to run LSU's offense last year with Luke McCaffery as your QB

Which is fine. It's more realistic for schemes to be adjusted to than it is for an entire conference to adjust to mere scheme

So we all said about Chris Hickman. He alive? He catch one ball this year?

He has played. He's at WR and will probably stay there. I believe he's kind of a tweener they though they could turn in to a TE. He is one of our better blocking WRs and that seems to be his role. I think he's been injured but I'm not sure what the whole story is with him. Frost isn't very forthcoming about injuries. Without actually being in Lincoln for games, I don't get the scoop from my "insider" like I used to. It's not a great idea to start asking too many questions without the benefit of a little bourbon.
