Why... in the world would you proudly announce you aren't evaluating a struggling coaching staff on all aspects of their jobs. Why would you say you don't go to practices? When the head coach is saying that there's a massive disconnect between practices and games, wouldn't you want to see what's going on in practices?

This makes no sense to me.

One word. “Extension.”

It just seems like he's continuing to paint tho? I get his wagon is hitched to Frost, but "I refuse to do my job!" seems like a weird approach for the AD.

Bill needs the volleyball team to win in the worst way to distract the masses and truth be told he's probably happy that the fans couldn't fill up the stadium for home games, the boos would be deafening.

He doesn’t believe in micromanagement. Frost will figure it out or not, but has 2 more years (estimated) to do so.

He hired the hottest candidate available who could have had the Tennessee or Florida job...but we got him.

There is more than one song about getting what you wanted and reflecting years later...

Moos did the right thing hiring Scott.

Moos hired the guy everyone wanted. Twice. If he goes out and hires Dan Mullen there's people with torches and pitchforks outside his Lincoln Condo. He's going to make damn sure his guy gets all the runway he needs to either sink or swim. I have no problem with Moos and don't blame him one bit for hiring who we all wanted.

Trying very hard to figure out what this response has to do with the topic.

I don't blame him at all for hiring Frost. It was the right decision. I blame him for giving an unwarranted 2 year extension on top of an already generous contract. I blame him for not holding the coaching staff accountable, but instead making excuses for one of the worst periods in Husker football history and not doing a damn thing about it.

He said he has other people go to practice for him and they report to him, He said his grade is on game days but doesn’t get involved with Head Coaches till the season has been completed and then he seats down with them and discusses the year and if there should or need to be any coaching changes or what needs to be done with the recruiting front...

Moos can watch practice from his desk in his office. He doesn't need to "go to practices". It is also true that Moos knows that what he sees at practice doesn't matter. It's what he sees on game day. You have to remember. Moos has retired once already. He's made a lot of money and he's not wringing his hands over Frost's practices. He hired the only guy 98% of Husker fans would have been happy with. Now we have to deal with it while Frost works his way through this mess. He'll figure it out. It might not happen next year but I believe strongly that Frost is a smart guy and will get it done eventually.

Florida talked to him and made him an offer but they didn't want him to bring in his own assistants. Florida was going to do that for him.

Moos will publicly say that to avoid causing a rift during the season. It is AD speak. But you can bet in their post season meetings Moos will suggest some changes. You can’t go 4 years like this and keep your job.
Fan attendance is down like 99 percent this year at Memorial Stadium so clearly Moos sees the fans aren’t happy.

Frost is his guy and the guy the entire NU fan base wanted. He will let Scott do his job and if it is time for Scott to go next year, Moos won't be the guy making the next coaching hire.

Moos has to have buyers remorse. To cover his butt he has to make it look like we are to or 3 plays away from Big Ten champs

Moos is a guy that keeps his distance. Not a micromanager. There will be a time when he needs to be involved. For most, we wish it was now. I look at a guy like Lovie and he got 5 years. Frost will get 5 years.

Also remember that Moos is the individual who could be heard screaming from his box during games when Riley was coaching. He played the game an knows what’s going on.

My take is he thinks this is fixable. Most games are close . There are periods during games in which it looks like things are working.

Or maybe he thinks this is just a bad dream, and he is going to wake up an it’s all going to be ok.

Moos did exactly what was asked of him. I have no complaints on anything he does. He doesn't need to attend practices to understand what is going on. He hired Frost to do a job. If he doesn't do that job, it is on Frost. When the boosters have had enough, Frost will go.

Moos played college football at a high level and understands very well what is going on. He was an all Pac 8 offensive tackle at Washington. He also knows who really fires coaches at NU and his opinion is only one of the several that matter. Frost isn't going anywhere.

I love that he hired two coaches Nebraska fans were dying for and loving when he delivered and now pitchforks are out. One thing fans are bad at is looking in da Mirror

I didn't realize he played.

Moos watching practices is not the answer to anything at this point. Tom freaking Osborne was the AD for Pelini for a while, it didn't yield wins or changes in Bo's personality. If Scott Frost can't coach practices and games there is nothing Bill Moos is going to do during or after practices to change that.

I am encouraged that Moos knows what to look for in offensive line play in particular. Tom tried to help Bo to some degree and was blown off. For as icy as their relationship was, I'm really surprised Tom stuck with him as long as he did. Bo refusing to fire Carl would have been the last straw IF I were Tom. Bo wasn't one to walk in to anybody's office and ask advice.

Why did Bo have to fire Carl? We produced some good defenses while he was here.

There is a huge difference already, even with the mistakes that are being made at least Frost's teams are competitive which is more than I can say about lil Boo Boo and playsoft Riley's squads.

You really don't remember? Oh my. I'm not going to detail all of the reasons why. Sex, booze, sex, booze and more sex. Yeah that pretty much covers it. I still can't believe that Tom let Carl back on campus after what he did as a GA for Frank. We had staff members getting picked up in prostitution stings.......

Good defenses can stop the jet sweep of Wisconsin. Those last 3 years Bo did not.

I don't want Moos to fire or micromanage Frost, and I fully expect him to speak glowingly about Frost to the media - just as every AD does with his hires. But giving him a contract extension was a ridiculous and completely unnecessary move.
