Somebody needs to tell Indian activist Tim Giago (he's Lakota Sioux) that his news publication called "indian Country" from the rez in Western South Dakota is "racist".Am I missing something here? I could see Redskins, but Indians...
Good god, I am concerned for this country and our future.
Make sure that they shame you repeatedly because of white privilege even if your not white somewhere in your family you do have itI’m offended that you’re offended and that everyone is not offended when given the chance to be offended.
Make sure you use the preposition “of” when referring to a “a person of color” rather than the racist “colored person.”
I’m off to re-education camp comrade.
International Anthropologists & the world renowned National Geographic tells us we all came from Mother Africa. Some of us just couldn’t take the heat & humidity & beat feet. I guess we’re all black but just don’t know it. Nothing worse than a confused whitebread homie.
No, they ought to adopt the Negro League team name Buckeyes - just to make Ohio State fans' heads explode. The Indians should change their name to the "Cleveland Football Team" just to mess with people.
If you have ever read Tim Giago's articles, you would be well aware that he is opposed to the use of indigenous mascots and he, along with an overwhelming majority of Native Americans, considers such use explicitly racist.Somebody needs to tell Indian activist Tim Giago (he's Lakota Sioux) that his news publication called "indian Country" from the rez in Western South Dakota is "racist".
I sure hope the Chiefs don't eventually change their name!!
The Great Human Migration
Why humans left their African homeland 80,000 years ago to colonize the world.
It’s coming. No doubtI sure hope the Chiefs don't eventually change their name!!
I was born in the US. I'm a native tooWell, they're Native Americans. Indians are from India
They would just need to change the logo to John Roberts. He is a chief justiceChiefs is also a racist term.
What about when the environmental nuts say using animal names is offensive? If you have ever read Tim Giago's articles, you would be well aware that he is opposed to the use of indigenous mascots and he, along with an overwhelming majority of Native Americans, considers such use explicitly racist.
Or Don Rickles. CPO Sharkey. They would just need to change the logo to John Roberts. He is a chief justice

Those are fighting wordsLaughingI’m 22.3% Irish, and I’m offended that ND thinks we all fight.
or lucky charms.I also find ND to be offensive , they’ve never offered me a drink and their logo is a drunken, cigar smoking leprechaun!
I am Swedish and I'm offended by schools that use Swedes as their mascot.
I thought we were still calling them freedom fries?I'm French and German.
No more hamburgers or french fries, bigots
Gotta call them beef patties and string potatoes
i believe there is a difference to most people between something being racist and something being offensive. I think many of you still have the problem of looking at issues from only your perspective and not taking the time to learn how other peoples perspective might be different than yours and why. I dont necessarily think these names are racist but i do understand how using them to market our sports franchises might be offensive to native americans. But i certainly do not understand how so many of you are not more empathetic when the solution is so easy and causes so little harm to anyone. If they dont want their names and images used for our entertainment purposes then lets not use them. its real simple. it wont hurt anything and it might make others happy then do it and move on.My Dad was born on the Pine Lake "Indian Reservation" to my grandma, who was full blooded Lakota Indian with the maiden last name of Iron Moccasin. FYI most American Indians migrated from Siberia, so they aren't anymore native than European-Americans. They just beat them here. The term Indian is not racist. But then again, I grew up when people from the Orient were called Orientals. Now that's racist because someone was pissed off and declared it racist. The list goes on and on.
another uneducated opinion. white privilege is not meant to shame. people like you added that term to try to cause backlash to a real thing. white privilege to most people just means understanding and acknowledging the difference between growing up in a nice suburb with hundred thousand dollar homes and SUVs and 2 parents who often graduated from college and growing up in the ghetto with maybe 1 parent working a minimum wage job no history of college graduation in the family; a crappy school system and surrounded only by people who were born into a similar situation without all the resources that kids get from being in the former situation. You need to get up on things. The new "white privilege" label now applies to anyone of any color or race who is successful and has money. There is no end to this and somewhere it is going to not end well.
