Great...we have enough trouble game planning against an opponents defensive coordinator and making in game/halftime adjustments that we are familiar with. What are we going to do against a new defensive coordinator at Illinois to start 2021 season?

Luke Fickell? Illinois just invested in all those new facilities, so it could be a really good place for an up-and-coming coach

Yeah. He did great at Ohio St with all that talent........Why is everyone so high on him?

I was going to start a thread on him. I am very interested in how he made Cinnci so good. OSU was dominant before him, .500 with him and then dominant again after him. His first year at Cinnci they were brutal, including a 4 TD loss to Frost UCF team. And that was a pretty well established program. Since then, they have been lights out.

How serious as fans should we take this season being SF 3rd season if it’s just a Covid practice season that some are calling it...

Weird firing a head coach during a pandemic..

That 2011 year was an interesting one, and he’s come a long way since then IMO. Was a DC under Meyer and now 3 great seasons in a row at Cincinnati (first one was tough). He’s been mentioned for more than a few Power 5 openings.

I still say that 2011 OSU team creams NU if Miller doesn’t get hurt.

I wonder if he’s made staff changes?

So far Frost's signature win is against Lovie, in 2019.

And yes I was cringing as I typed signature win.

Why are we stooping this low to call any of SF wins as signature..

Nice satire..

So, just to be clear. Illinois, who has never been good at football, just fired their football coach. Their football coach that just humiliated Frost with much inferior talent. Got it. Frost is our guy until attendance at Memorial drops below 10,000 per game.

At this rate a 10,000 per game ticket drop will easily happen next season when focusing on actual “scanned” tickets on game day. Ignore the tickets sold...focus on scanned tickets.

He is the only big ten west coach with a losing record to Frost while at Neb ... they had no choice but to let him go

Lovies comments at the end of the Northwestern game were telling. He cited injuries as main reason for struggles. You don’t often here head coaches talking like that.

Lance's name already popping up for the Illini job.

I still could see Jeff Monken (Army and Illinois native) getting a shot there.

They haven't gone as long without a conference title as we have.

If this isn't sad-Illinois has beat us twice since we've been in the Big Ten. Both coaches were fired at the end of the season in which they beat us. When we lost to them in 2015, their coach was Bill Cubit, who was an interim coach at the time and was not retained after the season.
