Who’s getting better?

One of the key ways to judge a coaching staff is player development. Since we’re not stacking 4 and 5*s on top of each other, we need to develop the 3*s into better players.

This is where Frost and his staff is really falling down. Who on this team is showing demonstrable improvement year over year? I’m not sure I can name anyone who stands out and makes me say, “Wow, that guy has really gotten better.”

That’s a problem, A big one.

I’d say Austin Allen for one. But not many others.

Stille, Rogers, Domann, Payne, Nelson, Heinrich, Honas, Cam, Williams, Allen.

Its kind of hard to say with most guys because so many of them are 2nd year guys that didn't do much last year.

Rogers for sure. It's interesting that all of those guys except Allen are on defense.

Major systemic problem on offense. Its not totally on development, its more about how this system just doesn't work in the Big10 unless you've got a bunch of 3rd year starters that are all NFL caliber players.

How can we say that our receivers haven't improved when 48 times a game we are told that someone was wide open?

Domann has really been a good player this year. Cam Taylor could be AA level if he cleans up his play.

I think this offense is night and day with a competent passer. There were 4 to 5 passes that would have been game changers today. That entire O operates different if they hit a few of those.

Yes, that is very true. But we need to recruit better players on offense too. I'm not sure if any of our offensive position groups were as talented as Minnesota's. Maybe the tight ends.

theres plenty to work with.
results fall on scott.
its like they find success with something and then go away from it.
forget cute. if simple works, like mills running the ball / throw to tight end - stick with it.
make them stop it, maybe they may not be able to.
you can see a swing pass coming a mile away and it gets snuffed everytime.
i dont care if i never see another one.
i like moving forward.
all the motion seems like complicated window dressing.
a good portion of these problems are correctable.

It doesn't get snuffed every time. If the throws are accurate, they work. If not, they don't.

I like Tuitoti and maybe Dawson on the D. On the O only Held (for recruiting) and Beckton. Everyone else can go.

I don't know, but has their ever been another college football QB whose stock plummeted more than Adrian Martinez? He was considered a Heisman contender after his freshman season, now he struggles to throw a downfield pass.
