I can appreciate anyone who wants to **** all over O'Neill. I too loved beating them in every sport. What sucked is they were always pretty good in baseball because their legion team was fed by O'Neill, Atkinson, Chambers, Page, Ewing, Orchard., and some Boyd County kids. Other Legion teams in their district would have to pick from 15 local kids and O'Neill would get to cherry pick from a bunch of towns.
True! Have to admit O'Neill Legion team was always pretty salty. You are absolutely right - - kid from Butte or Spencer or some redneck backwater was one of their best players back when I was playing. Also had the kids from the Catholic school too. But still, the town as a whole stinks on ice. Nice golf course. Nice ballfield. Idiots painted a four leaf clover on main street.

In my opinion O'Neill doesn't have a nice golf course. It's a decent golf course, but I wouldn't put the word nice in front of it.

Get off your green horse and open your eyes. Helluva catch. But they should have disallowed it in principle on account of how O'Neill crapped the bed the following year with Liewer and some of those other dudes back for SR year. I guess the wrestling team grunts were the heart of that team. Atkinson > O'Neill all day everyday. Atkinson an actual farm/ranch community. Honest to God cowboys walk the streets. Men who know and value a hard days work. O'Neill basically a cheap version of Neligh. Heard City Council in O'Neill was entertaining a motion to rename the town NELIGH LIGHT, but they weren't sure how they'd spell that across the big green weed hilariously painted across the main intersection in town.
This man speaks truth...and must have actually walked the great streets of my hometown, drank our beer at one if our establishments, and banged our fair women. Knows that the 18 mile drive east is only justified if you take a crap on the shamrock at high noon in broad daylight like a ******* Huskie.

Somehow I doubt the straight A's. Stops at multiple schools is very believeable. I would bet that you got the hell beat out of you at all of them. Mom being a teacher wasn't enough to save you.
you need to add getting stuffed in his locker daily, so he’s a straight A student does that mean he the cashier at Burger King?

Plainview has the best 9-hole golf course in NE Nebraska, especially along the Highway 20 corridor.
Plainview doesn't have the best 9-hole course in NE Nebraska. Hartington is a lot nicer, and Ponca has a better course as well. It is better than O'Neill though.

Ponca would def get my vote for nicest links in NE Neb. Doesn't Ainsworth or Valentine still have a sand green course?

i remember spotting balls on the 6th hole at a charity golf tournament in Neb City (Wildwood) when I was a kid. Devaney and Jerry Tagge were in the same foursome. Spotted their balls (Devaney, wide left OB). They were super nice to a 10 year old kid. And I believe pretty soused.

Debatable, but won't argue too much on either Hartington or Ponca (except neither are really along the H20 corridor, which was a qualifying comment).

You said NE Nebraska and then especially on the Hwy 20 corridor. Plainview might have the nicest course on the Hwy 20 corridor, but it's not the nicest course in NE Nebraska. Give me Hartington or Ponca everyday of the week and twice on Sunday over Plainview.

Hopefully neither one of them asked if you've ever seen a grown man naked.

I got my first hole-in-one at Wildwood playing in a college event, on the uphill par 3 near the clubhouse (I think, it was over 35 years ago).

FWIW, the 2 most recent Division 1 golfers from both Plainview and Hartington both picked Plainview over Hartington....
